Hello to our wonderful forums community! We have decided to run an ongoing Big Blue Table thread ‘Forums Edition’ until the end of October! What is a Big Blue Table? Big Blue Table is Beyond Blue's signature event held during October, Mental Health Month. Big Blue Table encourages people host a meal with their friends, family or colleagues while fighting the stigma that surrounds mental health. So why are we running one here? The reason we are doing this is so people have an opportunity to connect with others and have the experience of sharing their thoughts and feelings over a meal, no matter where they are in Australia. We know Mental Health Month can be a vulnerable time for many and believe this thread could be a safe space for people to be heard and learn from others’ experiences. Our community champions will be here to support you along the way, and our moderation team will be around to answer any questions you may have, as well as to ensure the thread remains respectful and safe for everyone. We encourage you to choose from the following questions to start a conversation: What do you do to look after your mental health? Are you comfortable sharing your feelings and emotions? If not, why? What are you passionate about, and why? Who would be your dream Big Blue Table guest, and why? After you have shared your answers, we would love to hear about what you are eating or bringing to the table. You can even tell us a little bit about your setup and what you can see around you to really immerse us into your world. This is your opportunity to be as creative as you’d like! But remember, there is no pressure or ‘right’ response, whatever you bring to the table will be more than enough. We hope this thread allows you to feel connected, supported, and a part of the Big Blue Table initiative. Now… get cooking!

Hi everyone, This section of the forum is a little different to the others, as you may have noticed in looking around the threads. Elsewhere on the forums, we discuss some pretty heavy topics: mental health issues, thoughts of suicide, trauma, abuse, relationship breakdowns. Here is the place to come to get away from that and have a bit of fun. Distraction can be an important tool to draw on if you're finding yourself overwhelmed by distressing thoughts and feelings. As this is a section for respite from difficult topics, we will remove posts made in this section that attempt to discuss personal issues. Please use a support thread in the appropriate section for these discussions. Happy posting!

Out of nowhere, a thunder storm of blue sunlight, green rain and golden fire. The grey haze was washed away, shadows splattered with colour. Rhythms of concrete melt into silence, except for the constant beat of drums. The Earth heaves back into existence, the sun strokes my skin, the breeze kisses my face, and softly it whispers into my ear... "Have you been waiting for me?".

Our homes are the most obvious bubble. We create these personalised artificial bubbles designed to block out everything in the outside world. We don't spend much time in them though, because most of our time is spent preparing ourselves to travel in another bubble that we drive to a different bubble... that we we don't really want to be, but that we need to spend time in to pay for the less time we spend living in our personal artificial bubbles (except for the sleep that we need for enough energy to go back to the bubble we prefer not to be in). In our spare time, we sometimes visit friends bubbles, or go out to eat in bubbles, perhaps even go dancing in a bubble. But most of the time we spend our little free time in our own bubbles. Occassionally we travel somewhere for holiday for a short time to get away from the artificial bubbles we don't want to be at and the personalised artificial bubbles that we spend less time in because we spend too much time in the other bubble. We do this by taking a bubble, to catch a flying bubble to a totally different location where we check into a bubble. Then we go out and look around at all the new sites occassionally eating at an expensive bubble, or shopping for gifts in trade bubbles. We don't really go outside of the designated bubble areas designed specifically for foreign visitors though, or interact with the locals outside of vendors in any way or really explore these locations outside of the tourist bubbles designed specifically for people like us. Eventually we catch a bubble back to our personalised bubbles again and tell our friends how wonderful the experience was in the tourist bubbles, and show them bubble pictures. And soon after fall asleep in our bubble, to get enough energy to drive our bubble back to the bubble we prefer not to spend time in, to pay for the personalised bubble we spend less time in. ... it's a bubble life.

OK, so this is a thread for simple to cook, economical, healthy recipes. Simple meaning minimal cooking/prep. I’m single, so my meals generally feed 1, so please multiply ingredients by number of people you want to feed lol. I’m also a fan of minimal washing up! #1. Pasta, Pesto, Steamed Veg and Pecorino/Parmesan. - Preparation - Minimal. Cooking time - maybe 20mins Ingredients Jar of Pesto Sauce (I use the Coles brand @ $1.95) - 1 jar will make 4 single serves. Uncooked Pasta of your choice - pasta is always on special somewhere, Birdseye Steamed Veg Portions (Usually $3:40) - 3 serves to the bag. Grated Pecorino/Parmesan - I forget what a bag costs, but it lasts for quite a while. I prefer Pecorino, it’s saltier than Parmesan. Method. Put water on to boil for pasta. Once boiling, put pasta in and cook until at your required level of “cooked”. Personally, I’m not fussed about overdone Steam a bag of veg for 3 minutes - if you’re cooking for more than 1, then 2 bags probably make a great serve for 3 people - depending upon pasta quantity. Adjust cooking time accordingly. Drain pasta, return to saucepan and stir pesto through. Allocate approx 1.5 teaspoons per serve. Cut open steam veg and drain excess water from pouch. Throw in with pasta and stir/toss. Serve, add Pecorino/Parmesan, salt pepper etc to taste. Eat and enjoy! Please add your own recipes to the thread. Eating, tasty, inexpensive and easy to put together food is one of the hardest parts about looking after yourself if you’re single. It’s also cheaper and healthier than buying takeaway. Let’s share some ideas

Heyaz Love a bit of depth, general chat whatever So I find fascinating that the universe that we're part of, use to think it's us Earth and out there but saw on TV once a man said we're part of it. Kaboomb yeah we are When I was about 8 a teacher told us about it being infinite & with time research incredibly powerful telescopes, the hubble, it's still the same & these things can see millions if not billions of lights yrs away & light travels at phenomenal speeds, beyond anything we can comprehend. Some of the light we see looking at stars from Earth have long since died. Outta lets say 100 people (there'd be millions + reports) that report a UFO there'd have to be at least one that's accurate. Sooo I reckon there's more than this, has to be doesn't there, we're only in nappies in the big picture but doin well with learning which I'm positive we're here for esp to become better people. One of the only goods about ageing is we (well a chunk anyway lol) is we mellow, learn more, hopefully become better people. That'll do for now, even if which I hope some do come to natter, yous don't .... I'll be back lol ....Arnolds sister
