Yes, MK, the grumpy walrus laughed! Hee hee!

I now have a team of electric eels to help me out with my own electricity, so amplifier won't be needed at all! Lots of wattage from the eels!

The Foghornamoanium sounds wonderful! I hope Moon can join us.

GFC just wants to share my salmon.

I say, "it's not big enough for the two of us".

He says, "Yes it is." & proceded to show me how he could fit himself into precisely one half of it.

Now we tussle over which half is mine & which is his.

I say, "the half you already fit yourself into is yours".

Now that's fair, ain't it?

If he doesn't agree, I will tie the salmon onto my kite, & on this windy day, it will become a flying fish.

Ta da! [LRC grins with triumph - not the motorbike]

Ahhh, GFC surrenders. Perhaps a flying fish could herald the opening of the Wake the Walrus Concert?! The penguins are waddling about, their waddle exaggerated as they struggle to carry their brass instruments that are bigger than themselves, with the exception of a few Emperor penguins who are at least bigger than a trumpet. But with all their play swimming around the iceberg their flippers have become quite strong, so they are managing. The kiwis, in the meantime, are banging their lagerphones and clinking their mason jugs together in anticipation of the festivities. The atmosphere is electric, literally, as stingrays and electric eels get set to rock the iceberg. I can’t wait to hear LRC’s acapella number. GFC might like to meow along.

[The actual GFC I know is a female grey fluffy cat. She has a grumpy face (like the walrus - ha ha) but is really not grumpy. She likes to spend time in the garden, but with her fluffy coat always manages to come in with leaves and bits of twig attached to her, thus leaving a trail of garden debris throughout the house. She is very lovely.]

Oh dear, how did I forget or assume GFC's gender! My apologies GFC. My next salmon is all yours.

I think we need only 3 octopi to play the Gamelan. We'll have to set it up in a non-traditional way, though.

That's something else I heard at the uni when they had a  Gamelan Ensemble on permanent loan. Some students were given lessons. They performed a concert in the foyer, inviting the audience to move around to hear the way it sounds different from different locations. I ent up to the upper level which has a walkway three quarters around, overhead of the foyer. It was marvelous. afterwards they offered the audience to have a go playing the various instruments. I felt too shy about using a padded mallet to strike one of the metal (I think they were brass) bells.

I just read your Happy Memory, Croix, & you remind me of my father's boat, & being out in the rain, with the sky a dense steel grey, & lightning around, & a feeling of wonder, awe & uneasiness about it all. It's so long ago, the memory feels like a partially recalled dream, so it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't a true memory at all.

Hugzies everyone

Dear MK, not a worry at all re: GFC’s gender. GFC wants to jump up on your lap for pats and purr time. You will find that as you pat her clouds of long fur will float into the air. It tends to come out in handfuls. We have Sumo for our male cat. He can join us in adventures like the three musketeers!

I love the mesmerising sound of Gamelan. That gives me an idea. Perhaps we can hypnotise Croix with it? Hee hee! It will be very easy to hypnotise the kiwis as they are half way there already. Octopi are very intelligent, so I expect will know just how to hypnotise a walrus by playing gamelan.

Well I must sleep now, but look forward to the next instalment in The Wake Up the Walrus Concert. Actually now I think about it, hypnotising Croix is almost the antithesis of our concert plans to wake him up. But perhaps this is a way to get him out of the igloo and partying with the menagerie of band members! Or if he is far away as he says he is, we can hypnotise him telepathically or via Zoom.

There was a large gong ...

Must go sleep too ... just couldn't leave the 5-letter game for later (now after midnight). with 'GAUZE dangling there like cheese on a string.

Hey Croix....have you seen what' going on in your thread?  I can't understand what they are talking about....sounds very fishy to me.  Be careful or they will take over your iceberg.  I did notice ER mentioned octopuses.  I like to say "octopuses" as"octopi" doesn't sound as friendly. ER said they are very intelligent, which is true.  I know someone, a keen observer of nature and loves the ocean, snorkelling, diving etc.  He is positive a particular octopus was communicating with him....and handed him a tiny shell.  He took it out of his "hand"....no, tentacle?     said the whole experience was magical...that's why he will never, ever,ever order anything to do with octopuses on a Chinese or Japanese menu etc.....never never. They are his friends.     { P.S  oh nearly forgot.....Hi Croix..hope things are well with you.  I am going to raise the roof in my current venture...}

Dear Moon, The story about your friend and the octopus is just lovely. I am sure they are communicating. I have met a local octopus near where I live. She lives under a particular rock and I believe has been taking care of eggs under there as she is very defensive of the rock. I was telling my psychologist about her and she mentioned a film called My Octopus Teacher that I would love to see. It’s about exactly what happened with your friend - a man who gets to know an octopus in the wild in South Africa. Those connections with wild creatures are just beautiful - we are all connected.

I hope you can join us on The Foghornmoanium as we attempt to wake up Croix. We have quite a few cunning plans up our sleeve. Hee hee!
