🐧Dear All~
🐧🐧
DB: You are going to have to work faster you know. All those holes filled with bubble gum. 🐧The penguins are pecking it out, blowing enormous bubbles and floating up in the sky until the bubble bursts, then diving into to the sea. They think it's enormous fun!🐧🐧🐧🐧
🐧🐧🐧
MK: No way, no more penguins 🐧allowed! I've far more than my fair share and can't even give them away. I'm overrun by penguins already🐧

BTW I looked up 'chocecononmy', would you 🐧believe the Smithsonian has an article about it?🐧

Croix....I am a bit concerned about you...you are beginning to show signs of obsession...and not such a magnificent one either....what it is with these penguins that seem to be taking over your peaceful solitude and creating mayhem on our dusk walks along the sand, speaking of many things?

"Obsession" is not always a good thing Croix....I know, I've been there.....for goodness sake don't let them infiltrate your fireside in the velvet dressing gown, reading Oscar Wilde, or Noel Coward.

Speaking of authors I am not a Jane Austen fan at all { except for Colin Firth emerging from the lake in his nightshirt) but have you seen Sense & Sensibility.?..it's old but great...with Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Imelda Staunton, Hugh Lawrie and the wonderful Alan Rickman before he became so well known....its worth seeing...and I believe Emma T wrote the screenplay, or had something to do with the production side anyway....Kate Winslet is so young!!

bit of trivia for you....the actor who played Willoughby {Kate's onscreen lover} and Emma later married in real life, had a daughter....started off about penguins, ended up with Jane Austen...how versatile am I?

No penguins in it at all, thank God.

That was only 20. That's small for waddle of penguins, & much less for a huddle!

Dear Moon and mmMekitty and all~

It's not an obsession, sadly it is real. Grandy loosed penguins on my iceberg and they certainly prospered. Someone else (I forget who to blame) introduced unicorns that have now learned to toot using their musical horns.

The sounds of penguins squawking with glee as they plummet into the sea and the unicorns tootling encouragement gives me a headache!

Talking of Colin Firth, once upon a time I used to go round offices repairing desktop computers and one could predict with certainty which ones would have a picture of Mr Darcy stuck above their monitor (there were lots).

MK, no 20 is only the visible amount (much like an iceberg I guess), the vast majority are off-post

I'll now go back in front of my log fire, in velvet smoking jacket sitting in my wing-back chair and pretend to be Alistair Cookie

Dear thoughtful MK

Ta for the cookies and milk, just what I need to fortify me before presenting the Monsterpiece Theater episode "Chariots of Fur".

I'm afraid your gift for my jacket is not something I can make out, may I ask what it is?

My text-to-speech reader said this, '🧯', is a fire extinguisher.

😺Good night ('Chariots of Fur'! 😹)

Dear MK and All~

While I appreciate the fire extinguisher I'm not sure what it has to do with my smoking jacket, which is a modest maroon with gold frogging. In case you are wondering I wear it for tradition's sake, I don't smoke nowadays, have not in fact for 25 or so years.

Maybe I can use it if the log fire gets out of hand - good thought, with knotty wood sparks do tend to jump.

Now you may find it hard to credit but the Monsterpiece Theater episode "Chariots of Fur" is an actual episode. staring Grover and Herry Monster

Your jacket was smoking! I saw the smoke coming from the pockets. I'm amazed you didn't smell it. Having quit smoking 27 years ago, I can attest to how sensitive I am to the smell of smoke & other odours as well. I have also quit thinking I will get used to smells & no longer think some are so strong as they are since I quit smoking.

They had a wood chipper out here Monday morning. It was so smelly, like diesel , I felt I couldn't breathe it normally with that odour in my flat, maybe 10% what it would have been outside, near the machine. How, why do people do these things in these ways?? So noisy! So pongy!

I trust you are careful with that fire, even while roasting the mmMarshmallows I am happy to give you.

I watched The Muppet Show - wish I could remember more. Lots of bits & pieces, like scattered, random jig-saw pieces, so I am familiar with Alistair Cookie, aka Cookie Monster. yummm yummm with crumbs going everywhere!
