Yes, Croix, I would recommend Carnations, Colourful Carnations, on Crispbread, as only a cat like me can - mischievously.

Thank for the website suggestion. I'll will get to it, soon

& I saw you mentioned 'David Rabbitborough' - damn, I think I've missed something rather good, I suspect. Just the name was enough to give me pause.

I'm now trying to fix up my YouTube lists, because I separately saved songs, which I may actually be able to save to my 'Library' as entire albums. It is taking time because just when I think I'm on a roll, the place on the screen where I think I am shifts & I have to relocate my cursor via my keyboar, & hopefully, then be able to check what i already did, & delete the songs from my 'Watch Later' list, & if I find an album to save to Library, I may need to go back & remove songs from another list or two. all this in an effort to consilodate my lists. I'd like to finish this huge chore before I cannot manage the difficulty of it without seeing what I'm doing.

Fortunately, the books I've saved are not in such a mess.

A brief update about my struggles with the NDIA/NDIS - I may well have moved along in the process towards getting to the tribunal by a step or two... I've received a 'Notice of Constitutions' from the ART. However the lawyer the NDIA had apparently does not do theat work, nor at the firm where he worked, but didn't even bother to advise us about this change in advance, so who knows what that will mean? The person helping me has to find out who we are supposed to correspond with, now. In the Notice... they say things like 'in due course' which doesn't give me any time frame to set my sights upon Sort of feels like we're nearly there (after 2 years, you'd think so, eh?) & yet, still so far away, in limbo.

With other legal matter I want to sort out, I've been speaking with my sis more of late. She's so cool, she knows how to put catnip in the bread she baked for me. I doubt that knowing there is catnip in the bread will make the Diabetes Educator change her mind about my idea to make my own bread. She seems to be 100% against the idea.

Dear MK~

Was 'give me pause' a pun?

Yes you missed a treat, in the late 1980's Australian show Comedy Company one of the running gags was McFadyen's most excellent take off 'David Rabbitborough', a truly exceptional impersonation of David Attenborough, complete with uncanny accent, safari suit and typical hand gestures.

Some of his best when investigating 'Australia's unique species' (Roadworker, Zoologist, Police etc) can be found on YouTube.

Sorting out your music sounds a huge chore, though if you do not manage to do it all that simply means not only will you have albums but scattered favorites that may come as an unanticipated surprise. I'm sure all the works you have downloaded are enjoyable, though if you are like me I am often after a particular mood and other things can 'jar'. at the wrong time.

NDIS it is a 'long and winding road' (to preserve the musical theme:) and all I can do is cross flippers for you. 'In due course' unfortunately reminds me of Sir Humprey Appleby's "At the appropriate juncture" and "In the fullness of time" 😞

I hope you end up in a much improved permanent relationship wiht your sister, family, even just one person, can mean a lot.

I"m not sure why your specialist is so against bread, harking back to the days of the first Mrs C I understood whole-grain and high-fiber breads were OK, maybe things have changed.

Not too much of the catnip now or you'll never sort your music!

Croix

That pause/paws pun was actually unintentional - I just can't seem to keep my paws/pause out of any sentence. If I did, there would be no spaces after any full-stops for you to rest, nor any scratched marks to indicate commas etc...

Indeed, sometimes I just want quiet, relaxing songs, other times, I want the fast songs for exercising & dancing to, & there are the jazz songs, the classicalsongs & then there are the songs that combine classical & jazz, & there are funny/silly songs, Xmas songs & other things like Xmas stories for that time of year. There are also still some songs that don't seem to fit well - like maybe I need a country list. Also, lists for individuals like Laurie Anderson, The Beatles (when I cannot find albums for some songs of theirs), Same for Joni Mitchell, The Everley Brothers, AAAAgh! There is just so much. When I find albums with songs I already have on a list, I want to delete the seperate songs so the lists don't become too long. I'm not certain about the rules, but I suspect there is a limit to how many songs I can have on each list I create. Certainly, there seems to be a limit on the   'Liked Videos' list YouTube automatically made when I started 'Liking' songs & books. Things seemed to disappear from the list when it was more than 200 long.

I am aware some disappear when due to copyright issues or other problems, items are removed from YouTube.

Wish I could buy everything just to know it won't disappear. I'm not sure I can even be guaranteed that I won't loose things I've bought via my phone, keeping them there. I can only hope that my phone back-up is storing these things properly & that I can retrieve them when I need to get a new phone.

I liked having the physical objects, the books, records, videos, DVD's & CDs, just having them in my reach, holding & reading a book, or pulling a record from the cover & carefully putting the needle upon the edge, & even seeing the rainbow colours when looking at a CD/DVD. I miss searching in bookstores, music stores, secondhand stores - not knowing what new treasure I'd find.

The thing about bread is that it is a high carbohydrate food. Even the multigrain with seeds is evidently too much carbohydrate. The suggestion is that eating much less of such food is better for us. Recommended: 1 slice of bread per day, OR small pasta, Or small to medium potato, OR a small serve of  rice per day - sounds impossible to me. Even my grainy & nutty cereal must be decreased, as it also still contains too much refined sugar. The factory-made bread is now considered to be a highly processed food - also to be cautious about for that reason alone.

Ah, but I do the best as I can right now. Not perfect by any means, but I am eating a whole lot better than I was four years ago, following my double mastectomy. I've been told to do even more, because of the diabetes.

Dear MK (and LRK of course)~

You have a unique method of punctuation, only you and LRK could think of it.

I'm not sure of the total number of pieces of music you can have on YouTube, I do think it is based upon the number of tracks, irrespective if they are in an album or not. I agree that having to rely upon any internet organisation to not discard items as time goes on is a real problem. As I may have mentioned I collect old movies, and even if some appear on streaming services it is for a limited time only. As a result I haunt eBay to find the DVD (often second hand) as when I have that I'm sure of being able to access it years down the track.

With all the shortcomings of bought bread I'd have thought your making your own and having control of the ingredients would have been an advantage. While I'm supposed to be on a diet as set out on tablets of stone by my cardiologist I'm afraid I'm not that good at sticking to it -sigh

Croix

Croix,

I imagine your tablets of stones diet would be hard to follow, especially as it sinks to the bottom of the ocean beneath your iceberg. Even given your magnificent flippers, you cannot swim that fast, not even with a couple dozen Pesky Penguins to give you assistance.

I have enjoyed finding some very old footage of music being performed, though sometimes the audio &/or video aren't so great, it's that these things are up there for anyone to discover. These things are priceless & irreplaceable. Oh, I know, using digital technology & soon using AI technology, the quality will improve, but this does not have the same impact of the original footage.

I'd like to know that the old audio/video is being kept safe for future generations to appreciate.

There is simply so much. I'm so glad we have places like museums, libraries (mostly state libraries I suspect) & our national archive& maybe universities have some,,but still, so much! Many of these places have digitised their collections, so the actual physical objects can be held in carefully controlled storage, only allowing rare exhibitions & suc . I feel holding the real object is better than the digitised viewing, even while I know how fragile some objects are. Would you want to handle the pages of a rare old book, knowing your handling it may cause damage to it?

I just like the idea of these old examples of human creativity inspiring some younger person to be creative themselves - not relying on AI to do it for them. The AI produced stuff is like throwing coloured squares of paper in the air & putting together the collage referring only to where each square landed on the floor.

Hugzies,

mmMekitty

Dear MK and LRK~

Do you know I've never thrown any colored squares of paper in the air, mainly becuse I know I'll have to sweep up the igloo after they land. I wonder how many priceless artworks I've thoughtlessly swept under the carpet😖

The advantage of diets on tablets of stone is precisely as you imagined, they sink though the iceberg and fall down to the icy depths, well beyong a walrus's capacity to retrieve - so no more diet - hooray!

I did a lot of digitizing of old movies in the past, partly becuse the filmstock was decaying over time and partly to make them accessible to others. My archiving did not attempt to 'improve' quality, but give an accurate record of the original.

Improvements and restorations are of course possible and necessary for many reasons, however old items (digitized or originals, in their original condition have thier own charm. An outstanding example of partial restoration was a very early Australian feature-length film, "The Story of the Kelly Gang" (1906), which was partly restored from multiple fragments discovered over decades

Unfortunatly this all takes time, money and storage which means all archives have to make choices as to what to preserve and what to discard - there are far too many to treat them all -sigh.

Croix

What if I could invite Pro Hart to come & redecorate your igloo?  He's welcome to put the penguins & kiwis to use, too.... then wrap it up like a really wierdly-shaped mmMummy in cling wrap & install it atop the mound of stoney tablet stones & call it 'The Statue of Coarsetry', (pun intended).

Please? I will make a new igloo for you out of the ongoing supply of stone tablets for you. It won't be as pretty, but I think it could be warmer.

*sigh*, too... I don't have a couple trillion dollars to spare.

Was that first Australian movie the one about Ned Kelly?

I have never understood why or how he became a 'hero'.

Hugzies,

mmMekitty

Dear MK~

I'm afraid Pro Hart is otherwise engaged, and in any case you would have to make the stones out of polystyrene as otherwise they would sink right though 😞

Sumo has just plonked himself on my left arm so trying is somewhat difficult (he is a very substantial puddy tat)

Yes it was Ned Kelly. I've no idea why some less than deserving villains become popular heroes. Robin Hood for example in earlier interpretations suggest he was a violent, irreverent rogue who robbed and killed, challenging the simplistic notion of him as a noble outlaw who only stole from the rich to give to the poor.

Look on the bright side, if you did have a few trillion dollars you would not be able to move for all the 'new' friends crowding round.

Croix

...But Croix, I had envisioned The Stutue of Coarsetry resting atop the mound of stone tablets, which is going to rest at the bottom of our Antarctic waters, for all the wildlife down there, whether permenant or itinerent visitors to use as they see fit.

I was really hoping for Pro Hart, because I couldn't raise Jackson Pollock ... *sigh* & since he is not available, I don't suppose Picasso is either.

Maybe we ought to be writing our own myths & legends about ourselves, cranking them out, into the WWW, you know, join the deluge of fake & AI Generated garbage already out there, so much in fact, there are sure to be a few billion people who won't bother to wonder about our fiction & take it for fact.  No worries - we'll soon be heroes &r anti-heroes , with faces no one will recognise because the facial recognition software is geared exclusively to identifying humans.

Damn, I must be about ready for a sleep, so have come up with that nonsense [click] just like that.

Hey, Sumo, you haven't trapped his other typing flipper yet, have you? Shall I just lay down & clean my paws, & then I've done that, I'll clean Croix's flippers, eh? See if I can have a taste of the clam chowder he had for dinner. Yum, hey, wanna share?

Really though, what if I had those trillions? Would it really help to give certain Governments or individuals, or companies, the notion that there will be someone like me with my trillions who will come along & 'fix' everything?

Gotta say 'Goodnight'. It's late & I'm not even on Daylight Savings Time.

Hugzies,

mmMekitty

Dear MK~

Well, if you can't have Pro Hart you could try his son David, who is a world-renowned artist in his own right. And no, Sumo only sits at me left elbow leaving me typing one-handed (or flipper is you want to be exact)

Yes we could become TikTok identities and make a fortune (trillions in fact) from product endorsements, catnip flavored Pr.....s for you, mustache grooming aids for me:)
