Dear mmMekitty
Ta for the springy marshmallow, and you are right, they have kept well (under the mold this is)
I think I prefer the puddy tat avatar, though your "Jug Sans Lid" is unusual and has appeal, perhaps "Ceci n'est pas une cruche" might be an appropriate title too.
My break was good thanks, plus my health has improved a bit, so all in all things are looking up.
BTW they were the wrong pixies, now my iceberg is covered in footwear this morning - Oh Cobblers!

Hi ๐๐, my 'freind'
๐บGrandy did invite the pixies, DB was cleaning up,too, I also like "The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy", though some of the audio I've found on YouTube is simply not up to a reasonable standard, & I love the moon. ๐ฑโ๐& going round, & round, & round, ๐ซuntil I make myself sick & falll over, just like when I was a tiny little kitten!
๐Weary cat, now, but I had a brief rest, & want a late snack: a couple stubby sausages. ๐บWhen they pot, spit & zap at me, while I am trying to cook them, I swear they are fighting back!

hey Croix. yes you can call me Tayla. i just put my real first name to clarify i'm female really. thank you for asking though.
i've loved AYBS my whole life, i don't really have a favourite character, but like 90% of people, i can't stand Old Mr Grace (Kenneth Waller, not the Young one, Harold Bennett). i still love every episode though but i have my favourite ones. what about you? i also love the movie & the sequel, Grace & Favour. but i didn't like the Moulterd characters in it, which work on the farm passed down to them by Young & Old Mr Grace.
i like all episodes of Yes (Prime) Minister too. Bernard is my favourite since i love Derek, but i like Paul/Jim and Nigel/Humphrey too, what about you? i've been watching it on FOX Classics every Saturday & Sunday night at 7:20pm, then AYBS after, although AYBS is on that channel everyday now pretty much but in some stupid order (for example series 5 then series 9 or something). but i've seen every episode of both shows & have the box sets for both. i'm weird watching & recording it on TV then, lol.
The Two Ronnies are great, my Dad told me about them, same with Hale And Pace, & Dave Allen (he's Irish but still lol). I've only seen up to the 2nd episode of series 2 of Open All Hours but it was funny.
I haven't seen much of Monty Python except a few sketches, such as The Cheese Shop one, haven't seen much else or the movies yet. I love Fawlty Towers though, do you? don't have that on DVD, just watched it online.
I've seen snippets of the new Yes (Prime) Minister & personally i'm a person who hates remakes, unless the original cast is in it, which they're not, but Derek was the only one who was still alive in 2013 when they made it, but he's not in it. so it's up to you but personally i don't like it, but that's just me.
have you read the Yes (Prime) Minister books? i haven't but i was thinking of getting them, like the Hacker diaries & the others. i used to read a bit but lost interest so i should try to get back into that, even if i force myself or set a goal to read a certain amount a day.
i have some AYBS books that i haven't read yet either. sorry for me rambling on. it's nice to see you back, i'm glad you've returned & i hope the break helped you a bit. it's great to see a fan here of British comedies, including ones i like.
i'm old fashioned with rock & metal music & British comedy & TV/movies. that's the only thing i like about myself. i know heaps of British sitcoms etc but haven't watched them, music too

Dear Tayla~
No apologies are necessary, quite the reverse. This thread has no particular theme. I started it so people could simply talk to me about whatever they wanted, though more serious matters should be in their own threads of course.
In fact a detailed account such as you have just given is interesting and enjoyable, so talk as much as you like -please.
If you like Derek Fowlds, who is also one of my favorites as a foil to Sir Humphrey, dd you enjoy Heartbeat?

Hey Croix...re AYBS....reminds me when I was first one to leave a small meeting; I could have just said "See ya folks" or " Bye everyone"....but No, I had to go and say while waving my arm in the air " You've all done very well" only to be met by blank stares and polite smiles.....silly mob...must have all been too young to appreciate it!!!
{ not that I would dream of being a name dropper...but I did meet Mr Humphries {John Inman) a long time ago too)

Hello...nice to meet you No one can do comedy like the British...they are fabulous! I adore John Cleese..Basil Fawlty and if you like Monty Python sketches, I assume you've seen their movie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail?. My boys and I used to love it when they were little kids...and we still occasionally quote a stupid line in the middle of a conversation...{ friends must think we are mad!)
So many brilliant British comedies...too many to list here...yes the Two Ronnies are up there as well as numerous other gems. We Aussies can't do TV comedy, neither can the US..{ with one exception...they hit the jackpot with Seinfeld...sheer genius!!)........keep enjoying your quality shows!
