Dear Paul

I think using the 'Sunrise' theme from Richard Strauss' "Also sprach Zarathustra" was part of the genius of the film. I believe Kubrick wanted the visuals and sound to play a very large part in the overall effect of the film, as much as the dialogue, and this certainly was achieved.

Together with its uncanny predictions of space travel it has truly become a classic, after all who else would think to have detail such as instructions visible for a weightless toilet.

Dear All~

I wondered what that icon was, now I see it is a fishing rod with a fish (walruses don't need fishing rods so it was strange). Anyway thank you for sharing it, another fish always comes in handy.

Yes I'm more refreshed and can even ignore Moon's unkind remark about my jokes 🙂
