Hi everyone. I'm Geoff and have been a dedicated Volunteer on the forums for 13 years. I am proud to have stopped some of the stigmas that are associated with mental health as well as doing my best to help others too

Before my health went south I was a builder in all aspects of home construction and renovation. If you don't have a handyman around I hope I can offer you some tips that may be of help. I have had many years of experience in home renovation and will do my best to help you out if you are stuck and need some advice

I hope my experience may be of help to the people on Beyond Blue and make their life a little bit better. Even if you need help with the most basic painting job or putting up a shelf I can help there too with some tips

I will do my best to get back to anyone that has a question when I can as this is social yet important thread

Hi RX, there does seem to be a problem if you've had that many stoves.

I know the mice chewed through my antenna cable and also caused so much inconvenience in my son's house, why do they love eating plastic, no nutrition, no vitamins and how could they swallow it.

A sparkie may come out to you and not charge the world, simply because they have been home for quite a while.

Ring around if that's possible.

Hi Sleepy, that's great, the Ombudsman act straight away and want the company to settle a deal with you if it's not appropriate for you then contact the Ombudsman again and they may make the decision.

They have taken $20 off, so that's a win but keep going.

Hi Sleepy, once these restrictions and lockups are lifted then all these companies will be flat out trying to catch up, so you might need to give them some time, the best part is that you should be credited back to the date you notified them, that's what happened to me before this COVID-19.

The internet has a funny system, they asked me to call a certain no and extension and when I do its all weird sounds (?). They have very inconsistent communication now. I do hope they backdate my claim which would be so helpful.

I explained that I had to pay for temporary internet while they left me in the lurch, and I wasn't too happy. I've been credited so I don't have to pay at all my internet bill next month. So helpful!!

Gday geoff .

Finally , finally , got a door for the toilet/bath/r this morning . Talk about luxury haha . Been nearly 4 yrs with just a curtain, no excuses just hadn't got around to it.

Being a builder you probably only used new stuff l guess would that be right. Well l went over to my fav 2nd hand joint this morning , it's about an ac inside and out of anything you could imagine and got myself a door , asked how much he said 5bucks , doesn't get much better than that dose it eh. With a top quality handle and hingers still on it. Man l love that place.

Hello Geoff,

I think it's more likely that I will find a unicorn than a solution to my problem, but I will ask anyway.

Do you have any idea's as to how I can stop the birds destroying the flywire on my windows? The windows have the nylon type wire mesh, I did try the metal mesh on one window, but that just gave them something stronger to hang onto & didn't stop them destroying it.

Hiya pawp and Geoff and all.

got a bird question myself too actually for anyone that might have a suggestion.

We did have a lot of beautiful little finiches and other birds in our trees just in front of the porch and they'd play on the window cills too and just always be around, love having them around , sorry about the flowers though paw.

Well , a few cats from the neighbourhood have been coming through the yard a lot lately so all th birds are staying away. l dunno what to do about these cats. l don't mind them coming through but l hate that the birds are disappearing /

Any thoughts anyone ? Suppose l need to get rid of the cats but how to keep them away is the question .
