Before my health went south I was a builder in all aspects of home construction and renovation. If you don't have a handyman around I hope I can offer you some tips that may be of help. I have had many years of experience in home renovation and will do my best to help you out if you are stuck and need some advice
I hope my experience may be of help to the people on Beyond Blue and make their life a little bit better. Even if you need help with the most basic painting job or putting up a shelf I can help there too with some tips
I will do my best to get back to anyone that has a question when I can as this is social yet important thread

Haa, yeah l hate mowers that won't start .
The guy owns the blocks next door now that are part of this place, 3/4 of an ac , he did the whole block 3ft high with this tiny little whipper. He was out there from 9 am till about 5 , but he did it.
But bugger yeah l could at least get rid of all the long patches problem is l gave away my whipper. Hated that thing , was gonna buy another one but too tight right now though.
l tend to just throw petrol in , probably dropped in a bit of crap with it blocking things up.
Anyway, l'll figure something out. Cheers mate.

Hello Everyone, has anyone decided they wanted to paint wallpaper on a wall and encountered any problems in doing so?
Or does someone want to change the laminex on the kitchen cupboard doors, either by painting them a different colour or replacing them with a new laminex which can be very difficult, please let me know?
Best wishes.
Geoff.

Hi Geoff!
Yes I have i remember asking you for some help with them ages ago. They're old wooden ones and very hard for me to open as they stick. Is there anything cheap that I can use to help the bottom windows slide up more easily when I open them? Thanks!
Currently it takes all my strength and hurts my back.
Cheers!

Hello Hanna, sorry I'm late in replying.
Can we try a couple of options first, get a spare piece of wood and place it next to where the window slides up and down, give it a hit with the hammer and see if the window is easier, then W4 the roller while you slide the window up and down.
W4 is a can that will lubricate the wheel.
See how that goes before I suggest other methods.

Hey Hanna, good luck with the windows.
Hey Geoff, I wouldn't be okay with painting over wallpaper. My mum did it once many years ago and it eventually peeled off paint and all.
Paint is SO expensive in my books that I'd prefer to scrape it all off and prep it well ~ but that's why it takes me AGES to do anything at mine lol. I drive myself crazy.
Rx aren't lawnmower issues AWFUL? So bad that you have a new one and it doesn't work, grrrr.
Mine was broken by demon and so was my awesome whipper snipper too.... still pondering whether to have them repaired.
The PULL action is not something I should do like EVER, because the motion can slip my back out so easily.
My whole family have gone electric. Battery powered and corded whipper snippers, leaf blowers and lawn mowers. They're awesome but could be too weak for thick, tall grasses.
I'd dare not try to handle 3ft anything with those.
I put my new electric lawn mower together today, new being 3 months old (I was too scared to put it together!).
Have to find my long power cord now to use it.
There's always something isn't there?
Love EMxxxx

Hello Hanna, you can also use W4 on the sides of the window.
Hi EM, sometimes you might be lucky painting over wallpaper, but can I continue with this tomorrow as I have to go out.
Hi RX, one condition that must be provided when you rent a property is that heating and cooling has to be provided by law.
