PMS Induced Anxiety B6 Supplement?

justcant
Community Member

Hi everyone ☺️

Sorry to be a bit TMI but does anyone take Vitamin B6 supplements for anxiety or PMS?

If so, is it effective? How effective? How long to be effective? Any side effects experienced?

My doctor recommended it to me today to try and reduce my PMS symptoms which include terrible anxiety.

Thank you for any insights 💖

Sarah.

Hi Sarah,

My reply is about vitamin B6 in general. It is a water soluble vitamin, as are all of the B vitamins, which means that they do not build up in the body, your body uses what it needs and the rest is flushed out through the bladder. There would be no side effects that I am aware of because it is found in all kinds of foods. The benefit would be, if you are not getting enough in your diet, it would supplement your body's need for B6.

I would recommend, however, making sure you are buying from an ethical brand that don't include fillers of any kind. Your chemist or a health food store will be able to help with that.

I hope this was helpful and B6 gives you some relief Sarah,
