panic attacks

I have been having panic attacks more recently and when that happens I overthink loads and have loads of negative thoughts. Like I think i’m not smart enough, I’m not pretty enough, I am useless, nobody’s cares about me. I feel awful and I can do nothing when this happens except try to breathe and wait it out. I would love suggestions about how I can try to relax when this is happening. I am already taking medicine and seeing a therapist and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do, I feel so alone.

I'm so sorry about your panic attacks, they can be very scarry and upsetting. It's really good that you're getting professional help.

 

What I usually do is to focus on my surroundings and remind myself that it's just in my mind and try to keep as calm as possible. It does take some experience but with practice I got better at it.

 

Also, have you tried to find a way how to prove these thoughts wrong? Who do you think judges you like that? Are they kind people? What would a kind person think about you?

 

It can be very hard and I hope that you find a way and be kind to yourself. Please let us know how you're coping whenever you feel like it

I understand how panic attacks affect your life (my first one was when I was still in my primary school), there are some effective therapies / strategies that helped me like some different grounding techniques and a hypnotherapy but even a good strategies seems to wear off after a while. So I always look for some different strategies. I also try to find some new self-help books for anxiety and panic attacks. Anyway, I really want you to know that people here do care about you... People care about someone in many different ways, maybe not the way that is very obvious to you. I received a very kind reply to my old post just now and it made my day less painful. I truly believe that everybody here care about the person behind a post and they sincerely wishes you happiness. If you have written a nice message to someone on this forum, I believe your message will brighten the person's day and this person will appreciate you a lot.
