Horrible week

Hi everyone,

I'm having a horrible week, so just thought I would post to see how everyone else is going?

I'm having a hard time getting out of the shame spiral this week, but trying to remember this is only temporary.

Anyway, hope others are well, happy to chat about anything.

Hi Whatsinaname,

I've also been trying to practice gratitude more– I find that it itself relieves my anxiety and just allows me to appreciate the things and people in my life. Anxiety has been getting a bit worse lately as I am heading back home to the US next week where the virus is out of control. Exercise and some breathing techniques have also helped.

You might mention when you see a psych that you learned a bit about OCD and that what you learned really resonated with you. It's great that you're able to talk yourself down from your anxiety, especially about the smaller stuff. Again, it's something I'm really trying to work on and it's inspiring that you're finding success at it.

My psych and I are looking deeper into OCD. Its actually really interesting as I've always thought I was defective in some way from letting very small thing really effect me.

Nice to hear from you 😊 that’s absolutely wonderful that you and your phyc are looking deeper into OCD....

I understand Intrusive OCD thoughts can be very distressing to the suffer .... I’m sure your not defective in anyway..... 😊 when we get into our ocd cycle things just seem to be very confusing and the anxiety makes things feel like they are going very fast.....

if it is OCD and you have the correct help you WILL be able to overcome it with practice 😊

The intrusive thoughts and OCD resonate pretty heavily with me so I'm pretty confident on atleast some level thats where my issues lie.

At the moment meditation is my saving grace, and for anyone reading this I cant recommend it enough.
