Hi BShock!
I am so glad that you liked that there has been a lot of interaction with what you have posted! I hope that this has helped you not feel alone, validated in how you are feeling and comforted.
As the others have said - moving university is a big life transition! I can really relate to what you wrote about feeling like you are about to cry a lot. To give context my life felt very 'normal' and 'stable' but when my dad's work was going through mass lay-offs it threw me into a whirlwind! I constantly felt like I was going to cry, anything that was remotely stressful would make me have a 'bigger than normal' reaction. At the time I couldn't see that I was in a constant heightened state of anxiousness. Looking back now I can see how this change in my life was impacting my well-being.
The reason I wanted to share some of my story was basically to say that it can be incredibly tough to go through life changes but in time (and thank goodness for time) we can often re-stablise and find our balance. I think for me it was that lack of control in my life but you demonstrate so much insight so I am sure you will find that control! I have also read somewhere that it often takes at least 3 months to find ourselves 'comfortable' or adjust to situations.
Please keep us updated! We are definitely here for you!
