Sending you major hugs, i went through a terrible break up some years ago now. My ex cheated with my best friend so it was extremely hard for me but one day i just woke up feeling lighter. I hope that one day soon you'll be able to feel peace for your break up. Do you have a thread? I would like to be able to check in on you too.
I wish that something happened in my life for me to be this way. But the truth is nothing is wrong with my life as such. Something is just wrong with me.
I have tomorrow off work so hoepfully I'll be able to do something fun with the boys. Its school holidays here and i hate when I'm to messed up to leave the house.
I'll be thinking of you
X

Hi and you're welcome. I have a thread yes. It's "advice for seeking professional help: trigger warning sexual abuse self harm and suicidal feelings". I use it to communicate what psychs say and how I'm going with treatment therapy whatever. I also use it to talk about how I'm feeling you're welcome to check it out.

hey Baker84,
yes all break ups are hard. Even if you are no longer 'attached' to someone intimately, you will still miss them because of all the memories. The good and the bad. Like what White Rose said, let in a little of the emotion. Don't do what i did and bottle it all up, it just makes it worse in the long run. Here i am, almost 6 months later and i am more depressed than i was 1 month after the break up. If you need to cry, just let it all out. Being emotional isn't a show weakness; it is a show of strength and a show of character.
All the best x
Chloe

Hi all,
So I'm going back to my GP to discuss going on a mental health plan and seeing a counselor or something.
Tbh the meds im on now don't make a difference at all except cause me side effects and i just want to know what's wrong with me.
I experience more anxiety than depression in my opinion. But oh my god unless I'm at work my patience is non existent. It's taking its toll on my relationship with my eldest son. I don't seem to get annoyed at the little one, which sure doesn't help the eldest and I communicate better.
At work i am this calm person who has her life together. Sometimes my anxiety shows and i run around like a crazy person but i am so different. Nothing makes me mad!
I have told my dr this and he has offered me no answers. I truly only started medication because of my mood. Not so much my other issues. Its my mood that is ruining my life. Quite honestly i am unphased by not wanting to socialize and staying home. I know it's getting worse and my children miss out so i need that sorted too i guess.....
My relationship with my partner isn't toxic at all but i constantly have self doubt like I'm not good enough and seek out appreciation a lot. Also i try really hard to make him happy above myself.
All of the above tells my logic brain something is wrong with me but why can't i just be normal like i am at work???
That's what i don't understand, everyday i tell myself today I'll be different. But i never am.......

Dear Losstt
Good to know you are setting up a mental health plan. The person you will be referred to is a psychologist as that's the way the mental health plan is set up. Medicare pays a benefit but you will usually have a gap payment.
Feeling that you are not good enough is so common. And putting the needs of others before your own is also common. All to do with our self esteem or lack. You show the calm and confident front at work because you know you do a good job. Why do you think it's different at home?
The unfortunate part in all this is the way the depression keeps rearing its ugly head. I'm sure you have heard depression called the Black Dog so why not think of it as a dog that needs to be taught manners. It barks loudly to stop you thinking, trips you up when you are out, and jumps all over you when you are at home resting. Treat it like a dog you are training.
Once you know what to do you much more control over your life. The depression and anxiety may not go away altogether but your skills will help you get through this.
Telling yourself you will be different is a good idea but isn't working. You need to know how you want to be and that's the difficulty. You sound as though you are doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Talk to the psychologist about this when you are set up. In the meantime think of a small thing you can do differently. It may be something nice for yourself like a warm bath with lovely bath salts. If you like cooking perhaps a lovely meal. Coffee with a friend.
Talk with your GP about the meds.If they are causing horrid side effects you need to change. There are lots of different AD. The first meds you try are not necessarily the best for you but unfortunately there is no way of knowing the goodies from the baddies because everyone has individual needs. I had an AD which made me feel as though my head was going to explode and I had colony of ants inside. A colleague taking the same AD had no trouble.
Have a look through the information on BB. It may help you to understand what is happening to you.

Thanks Chloe, I do cry every afternoon soon as I get inside my house. I have in the last 2-3 weeks changed my emotions of anger into sadness as thats a better option for me,her and my kids. I am finding it easier to except after I have cried about my relationship ending.
Thanks again

Hi Losstt,
it's great that you you will be seeing someone, well done for putting that in motion. It's hard to have patience with anxiety because we are so much more sensitive and little things become irritating.
good luck with your appointment, I hope things can improve for you.
