Feeling like I'm failing!

The new meds I think are working ok, I'm not as anxious!

But I googled tonight, epic fail!

I just want to feel normal again!

I know I have to work harder!

Today I just  need encouragement!

Hi skye you poor thing. It's so frustrating to get conflicting advice.

I was diagnosed with bipolar start of last year and I thought  was wrong wanted second opinion my brother has bipolar so I wanted to make sure wasn't just because had family history that they gave  me that diagnosis also I could see some similarities to my brother but many difference to. Got two more opinions both said was  ocd  not bipolar as well. First person said not to take antidepressants cause they will make bipolar worse others have prescribed them not taken any yet I don't believe that they are wrong but it plants the seed of doubt for my ocd to make hard for me to take them.

From my experience with my brother he has such large highs no thought for anyone including himself does some crazy things.

Being on right meds though he is managing so well has made all the difference for him.

I know what it's like to wonder and wait for a confirmed diagnosis please look after yourself not sure if my rambling made sense wanted to reply to your post but things crazy with the kids as soon as pick up my phone to type.

hello Skye hun - just sending my best wishes to you after what must have been a very difficult and confusing day. It's not going to be easy for you waiting between appointments and while the diagnosis gets clarified. I just wanted to remind you that if you need a knowledgeable and supportive voice during this time, you can call the BB helpline on 1300 22 4636. Just another option hun.

Hey Skye

Nice work on the achievements you made with your treatment! You are a Legend. The Psychiatrist would be the one to stick with Skye...(from the last page) Multiple opinions will overload your plate...dog chasing his tail...Stick with one health professional you are most comfortable with....and stick to it 🙂

Dr Google....this can be counter productive as well Skye...good for a mozzie bite cure...but way too many variables and conflicting information for anyone...not just you

Thankyou for your kind thoughts about mum Skye......Her dementia is in early stages but okay...She just had a LFT (lung function test) which came up perfect which is great as she smokes about 60 cigarettes/day lol...Its taken me about 3 years for her to accept home help due to her pride and being stubborn....She only has 20% of her hearing left but still refuses an audiogram....so now when the meals on wheels people knock she cant hear them....or me....She said her hearing is excellent.

I am so though Skye that you havent been well....

Here for you Skye....Please be kind to yourself......xx

Paul

Hey there Bluey moon i am new to this but wanted to tell you i understand how frustrating the waiting game is & sometimes makes you feel like the symtoms are becoming worse or more are being added to the list of already nasty issues,i am stuck in rural vic no support networks aside from this one,i've been having un-explained seizures which means i am no driving & early change of life woman issues so 1 minute i'm crying & the next i want to punch you in the head i am scared to go out in public incase i end up in a padded cell or police lock up due to my unstable hormones. Hang in there it's hard i know still have 2+months to wait for start my appointments but 1 toe nail at a time & we'll get there, keep up the good work being a mum is such a hard job let alone adding OCD to the equation,my mum & brother suffer from it really badly but slowly with help they are no where near as bad as they used to be,my childhood i remember esp on school hols & weekends being locked out of the house after we had b'fast, made our beds, cleaned our rooms ect & only allowed in if we needed the toilet because our house was SPARKLING 24/7 you would never have known their were kids in the house, mum used to almost follow us around the house with a cloth in 1 hand & the duster in the other. I am happy to report she has settled down but it took the right meds & some councelling to make her see & "Chill" out abit. Goodluck with everything please accept a hug from me,take your cuppa outside listen to the birds sing & have 5mins to yourself. (I used to find the toilet was my only "me" time esp when my 3 were all 6 & under lol) X

My thoughts are with you during this difficult time   : )    i care about you also. I'm sorry i wish i knew what to say.  So sorry you are scared and worrying so much.   I hope your new medication works soon  : )

Hello Skye,

The conflicting advice you are receiving is very dissappointing to say the least.  And definitely adding to your distress and confusion over the whole issue.

I agree with Dean and Paul in that you should place greater reliance on the psychiatrists assessment than any other.  They are the most highly qualified of any medical practitioner, and have the greatest training of anyone to make these diagnoses.  Is your psychologist and your mental health care team aware that you saw the psychiatrist this week?  If not, then they need to be made aware so that they are all able to coordinate and instigate the most appropriate care for you.  As a TEAM, one would hope.  They all need to be on the same page, so to speak.  And then you need to get on board, and have faith that they know what they are doing.

It will all work out in the end.  Be strong, follow it through.  I know you can do it.

Love and hugs,

Sherie xx

Thank you guys for the love, you have no idea how much I appreciate it!

Simona thankyou for being such a beautiful person especially when you are struggling too!

To Jobe, welcome to BB and thank you for the advice!

To my dear, Shelley, Paul, Sherie, Kaz and Ci, thank you being there when I feel like I'm falling apart.

I even offered to leave my husband and kids this morning to save them the pain! He told me he loved me.
