I hope I am posting this in the right place.
I am just exhausted. I along with my husband are sufferers of anxiety ( social for him, social and health for me) and my husband has also been dealing with depression as well since his teen years. Both of us have severe anxiety, we are also both unemployed, I sustained a back injury almost 10 years ago so I deal with physical pain as well everyday. Most of my anxiety lately though has been for my husband, in January his JSA informed him he is two days into his WFTD phase and signs him up then and there for a program that was 30 or so hours a week, we don't drive and the place was a fair way away. Can they do that? She gave him no information about training and he had to sign what she gave him because he had no idea if he had the right not to. We both had a bit of a breakdown but he was able to get a medical certificate to cover him for a while. Now he has just finalized his enrollment at TAFE. Which I feel we can breathe for a minute. I'm lost as to what we should do now, in January this is going to start all over again for him, I have been forced out of my comfort zone so many times already and it has done me no good. I never want to see him the way he was that day after that appointment, it honestly nearly killed me. I have seen so many wonderfully helpful people on this forum, I would honestly appreciate any help at all that anyone could give.
Thank you.

Hello Janie,
Please don't be sorry, you have nothing to be sorry about. This is what the forums are for, to vent, talk or dump our thoughts here..
I can relate to you doing nothing but staring at the tv, The depression zaps all our motivation, I'm the same, bed is my best friend most days..
Im not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, have you considered speaking to you Gp about how you have been feeling?. Your Gp can get you onto a Mental Health care plan..I tried to heal myself, and it's just to hard to do it ourselves, professional are there to help us, maybe you could just think on this..Only if you want to..
I mostly play mind challenging games on my iPad, one thought at a time, means mind on the games and off depression..I know it's only little bits of mind relief but with practice the little bits gets longer in time..
Its okay that you haven't sewn the bag, there always a chance that one day tomorrow you will decide that you feel well enough to do so, please just never ever be hard on yourself, always try to be gentle with yourself..
Do you like walking, maybe you and your husband can go for a peaceful walk in the afternoons together, that way you wouldn't be so anxious..
Im probably rambling tonight, I've a cold and laying in bed, trying to sleep..lol I can never catch the sandman anymore, but without sleep our bodies/minds are not strong enough to fight depression..How are you managing your sleep?..
Please look after yourself hun..and alway remember you are a very important person, and I care about you..
Use this thread anyway you want to hun, it's yours now..talking about dumping on here, I as a lot of others here on the forums have done so as well.
Good Night Janie, I hope you sleep well.
Kind and caring hugs🤗..(not sure if you like hugs, but will send just in case.).

Janie... You are not dumping this on us. We are here to help you. We can't help if you don't talk, can we? I really don't recommend banging your head on the wall, trust me I've done it at school and it's not nice. Particularly with 29 extremely judgmental 13-15 year olds that make up my 9th grade English class 🙄 Except I think I hit my head on the desk... You get my drift though. Maybe scream at the wall instead. Mouth of at it and get colourful with your vocab if no ones home.
its okay to feel lost sometimes... But don't worry. You will be found ❤️ hopefully after a good nights sleep you will feel better tomorrow. And sorry about that strategy I was suppose to post, my computer is yet to turn on 😭😬🙄 but will post it as soon as it works. Hope it works soon though, school goes back the day after next.
take care of yourself Janie.

I always feel bad for putting my problems on others, especially such sweet people like you and Chloe and Startingnew.
I do have an appointment with my gp tomorrow, a double so we can talk about everything. I tried calling yesterday to see if I could see her sooner but no go. I'm hoping she can help, she knows of some of my struggles.
I love walking, I try to get my 30 mins a day or whatever my back will allow. I just haven't felt any motivation to do a single thing, I haven't felt this low for this long before.
You aren't rambling at all, I'm so sorry you have a cold, how are you feeling?
Sending you lots of hugs (I love hugs)

I said to Grandy that I still feel awful for putting my problems on so many sweet people, I can't help it, you've all been so nice and helpful.
Right now I don't feel I have the energy to even yell, but I have a doctor appointment tomorrow so I'm hoping something will come of that.
How have you been? Are you excited about school?

Hi startingnew
Still cannot pull myself out of this, but I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so I'm hoping it will go well.
A lot of my fear at the moment is having to deal with centrelink in the near future, and trying to sort things out for my husband and myself that we should have done a long time ago.
I'm just so tired and wish I could disappear.
How are you doing??

Hello Janie,
Thank you so much for the hugs, I also like hugs..
Im so very happy to hear that your going to your Gp tomorrow, please sweetheart can you speak about what you are feeling very honestly and open to him/her, I'm only saying this because I held back speaking to my Gp for a long time. It was when I broke down then openly spoke how I was feeling that I got the help I needed... Sorry I'm not telling you what to do, it's just my concern for you..
You don't have anything to feel bad for, that's what these forums are for, to release your feelings, fear and thoughts etc here, it's like a release for us/you and well I love helping and talking to people, it kind of helps me to heal..
I love walking as well, but my anxiety does hold me back sometimes, but when I can manage a walk, I look at everything I can, I practice mindfulness on my walk, ex..I look for birds in the trees, listen for them, feel the sun warm my skin, I really try my best to enjoy it.
Im sorry your motivation is so low. Depression seems to just not like us to do anything.. We can fight through this, I believe that we can..
I hope your day today is a good day..if every day is better then the day before, one day we might all be well again..
Warm and gentle hugs 🤗🤗🤗..lol now I can give them to you..I'm so happy you like them..

Hello Janie,
Finally my laptop is working. This is the coping strategy for anxiety I use.
Construct a table
with four columns. In the first column, write the heading Situation. In the next, write Emotions. In the third, Thoughts, and in the fourth, Alternative
Thoughts. Under Situation, write
the situation or thing that is making you anxious. In Emotions , write down how this situation makes you feel and how
your body reacts to that physically (e.g sweating, shaking, hyperventilating,
crying etc). Under Thoughts, write down
the intrusive/anxious thoughts. Finally, under Alternative
Thoughts, write down any thoughts that don't make you anxious that you
could think instead.
Here is an example
of the 'Thought Table' I did. Sorry it isn't in table form as I couldn't post
it like that, but you should get the picture.
Situation: I missed the bus
Emotions: Scared, upset, anxious, nervous,
sweating, sick feeling in my stomach, dread.
Thoughts: Dad will be mad, I will be late to
school.
Alternative Thoughts: Dad will drive me, it's
not the end of the world if I miss the bus, at least I will get a seat if my
Dad drives me.
Have a good day
Chloe
