Lately I have wished there was a magic switch to turn off my anxiety. It's just so hard to deal with. Does anyone else feel like this?

Hope you are feeling ok today gypsylee 😊

Hi Emptybutterfly,

I am really sorry for the late reply. I understand. It limits me so much too. I feel like it's a fight everyday.

Hi ELG,

The exact same things happen to me 😢

Yes I am over it too, I actually thought at one time that it will reduce and eventually disappear but it hasnt. I like the post that said "ask it what it wants"? It is just a big bogey man trying to make me afraid of everything, the panic thoughts and anxiety shakes are just its symptoms. Some days are worse than others and some times of the day are worse than others. I like you am over it.

Hello Paul and everyone else,

My psych appointments are too far apart to be beneficial to me, small town one psych, monthly visits are not enough to get on top of anxiety, I would prefer weekly visits at first to get it under control then once that happens then I think monthly will help keep it under control.

kindness only

Karen.

Hello Karen

I know that I often talk about super frequent counseling which has been good to me. To many others without the resources its a big ask and sometimes impossible too

You are doing really well if you can get a monthly consult as I was an idiot and thought twice a year was enough when I was diagnosed back in the 80's. I had counseling twice a year for 13 years and never understood why I could never get any peace. I guess I never knew any better and thought I could self heal.....whoops

You are a gentle soul Karen

My kind thoughts

Paul

Hi, yes I do feel like that at times, sorry to hear that this may be happening to you or that you may feel fed up with your anxiety, the effects of it can be very serious and affect day to day life, I feel that I get anxiety too at times, I do sometimes get completely fed up with it and just feel like I want it to stop and go away, the constant racing thoughts in the mind sometimes become overwhelming, I really hope it passes for you, there are a few good tips on this website on how to manage it, maybe check them out if you like. All the best.

Hope you're travelling ok Booklover17.

My latest therapist stopped practising at the end of last year (saw them on and pff for 10 years) and I've decided to take it as an opportunity to suss out a different approach. I think each practitioner has their area of speciality and after a while you've exhausted what they can offer and its time to try a different approach.
