Coping with depression, anxiety and ocd

Hi my name name is al. I suffer from serious ocd and anxiety. I was originally diagnosed in my late teens with anorexia so I believe the depression and anxiety along with the ocd stems from there. I am a clean freak and I clean constantly if I’ve touch one thing I feel it’s dirty and I have to clean the whole area or room I have enter with any small touch. It’s extremely disabling and I wondered if anyone had a advise or is going through something similar.

hi Al, I am extremely sorry that you are being controlled by OCD, I've had it for a long time some 58 years, but haven't had anorexia, nor was I a clean freak, just other rituals, and I'm sure this is how all your problems have begun.
May I ask and I'm very sorry to do this, but have you overcome your anorexia, I know it's a very private question and hope that I haven't upset you, but all it would take is something like this to begin your downfall.
Your OCD is at the top end because there can be different levels for having this illness, some people can have it a minor way, where it doesn't intrude into their lifestyle, and somewhere it inhibits everything they do, so I wonder whether you have been prescribed any medication.
I'm not saying that this will help you but it's certainly worth a try, plus I'd like you to google this 'urgent help for ocd', your doctor may have alternatives, but it's so severe I really hope to hear back from you, because at the moment I haven't addressed your depression or anxiety, and these are also two powerful factors in your life which you must be struggling with as well. Geoff.

I have horrible OCD, with cleaning, checking I have completed things and just thinking that everything being exactly the way I want it is a necessity. I also have anxiety so that may be a contributing factor to all these things. I also feel that keeping things neat and perfectly clean is essential and that is just a part of having OCD. I would just like to ask also, does anyone have OCD where they feel as though they haven't completed a task, such as an essay for homework, but they know they have? I know I've finished things but yet I continue to have to go back and check them.

Hope you get more responses that help you and that you learn to deal with the OCD because it is a very annoying thing to have. Also, sorry if my advice and response wasn't extremely helpful. I am only thirteen, so I don't yet have a great experience and knowledge about OCD and anxiety, I just wrote about things I experience.

hi Amelia C, I'm awfully sorry that at such a young age you too are struggling with OCD, and not to take any grace away from Abal, there are people who have junk stored up in the front/backyards and in the house and won't throw anything away, they too suffer from OCD. Geoff.
