Hi everyone. I am new here and very grateful to be able to connect with people with similar mental health issues. I have diagnosed anxiety, diagnosed PTSD and depression. I’m on medication snd see a psychiatrist and have just started seeing a psychologist who is going to help me process some of the trauma. I guess I just wanted to say hi. To let you know that I work full time at a “high level” job. No one would really know how I am. I keep it hidden. So well. I’m supposed to be going to see the James Blunt concert tonight. But I won’t go. I just pull out of going everywhere unless someone is relying on me, then I try hard to go. But if it’s just me, I just don’t go. I also think I’ll take tomorrow off because my anxiety has been horrendous this weekend. I have the Sunday afternoon anxiety thing already and it is only 6.30am. I hope you can all have a calm day and have some joy.

Hey Ando, I hear you. Good on you for seeking professional assistance. What you are living with must be a challenge and it does take a great deal of courage to get up and go to work.
On Sunday I usually ruminate over a sick day Monday. But I will do my regular routine and if I cannot sleep due to anxiety I will call in sick. But mostly by allowing myself to entertain the option of calling sick my brain can relax and get some sleep.
The fact that you can park yourself to one side and step up for the people who are relying on you is very commendable. Be kind to you too, and don’t stigmatise yourself during your down points. What is happening right now is normal, just as your journey forward is normal.
Thankyou for sharing and I hope peace for you.

Hello Ando, I am the same no one would know. Though I have never been diagnosed. I have been socially awkward for maybe about 10 years and I have had to overcome my anxiety due to my job and responsibilties with people in my community. It has really helped some of the underlining issues I have had. Though its still not 100 percent I still go though days that anxiety or depression wins and I have noticed when I have pushed past it before its escalated that it hasnt stopped me as much. The pervading bad thoughts can be very convincing/ overpowering when focused on. I think dealing with Anxiety is one of the hardest things to have to heal with and it is complete primal fear. Are you going to therapy do you have anyone that you talk to about this?
