Am I having panic attacks?

Roughly once every 3-4 months since I was about 16, I have symptoms that follow in order: dizziness, racing heart beat, nausea, shaky hands then a cold sweat. After the cold sweat I start to feel better and I gradually return to normal, lasts roughly 15 minutes. All this time I simply thought it was low blood sugar because I was always hungry before it happened and I usually went on an eating binge while this was going on. Until recently when this happened just after I had a big meal.
I never considered it could be anxiety based because its always happened in a non stressful location such as laying on the couch watching tv. There is nothing wrong with me physically, my physician made sure by getting various medical tests such as ECG's and full body scan. I have suffered from depression in the past but don't personally believe I am depress now. I have nothing to feel anxious about in my opinion and the only reason why I am asking is this website said that you can have anxiety without being aware of it.

Sounds like a panic attack to me. Your situation is similar in every way to mine.
I also had numerous medical tests none of which flagged any physical issues. I was taking medication until I stopped about 6 months ago. During the time of taking the medication there were no problems until another attack happened a couple of days ago, I am now booked for another GP appointment so it looks as if the medication was helpful.
Its distressing isn't it when these things happen out of the blue with no obvious trigger. All the best to you in dealing with it.

This has recently started to happen to me and at first I thought I was having a heart attack! After all the tests in the world, all has come back normal, so now the doc is thinking anxiety and or depression. I had the same thing sitting quietly on the couch or in bed and it would happen, nothing distressing at al!
Good luck hope you can figure out what is triggering it, as I am trying to figure out the same thing. Its nice to know that I am not crazy and someone else is experiencing the same thing 🙂
