Hey Hayley, it's nice to meet you (virtually) and welcome to the forums. I'm so sorry to hear that you're struggling.
I was in a similar position in Year 11 as well, where I had no motivation or energy to do work or even go to school. My mental health saw an upward trajectory in Year 12 after I dropped a few subjects that I didn't need for my preferred uni course, and I found that I had slightly more motivation, which made me feel better.
May I ask what it is about school that's causing you the most stress? Is it the workload and subjects? Your peers or friends? Pressure or worries about the future? This may help narrow down what relevant advice or suggestions we can give.
Based on my experience, I can give you a few things that brought me out of that horrible headspace in Year 11.
I struggled socially in high school, and doing a few hours of part-time work a week with staff who were around my age helped alleviate my social stress by broadening my social support network. I also maintained a few of my favourite hobbies outside of school (when I had the time), which helped me get into a better headspace that I could face my school days with. I also had a tutor for the subjects I needed more help with, and this always helped give me reassurance on topics that I didn't yet understand. Social support also helps lift your mood which can improve your wellbeing, whether it's friends, family, or other loved ones.
I would also invite you to consider the pros and cons of dropping out of school, if this is something that you've been considering for a little while. Have a chat to your parents or guardians if you can, or teachers who you'd feel comfortable asking. This can help you make an informed decision.
I hope this can offer some reassurance for you, and if you're willing to talk some more, feel free. We're here to support you.
All the best, SB
