Hi
I'm really sorry you feel like that.
Dont give up though, I felt like you do know but I'm really happy I stuck around. Things are so good for me now.
What do you do after work? Join a gym or some kickboxing classes?? Write down all your hobbies and interests. Get involved in a club of some sort. You feel isolated which is a worry but you can change that! Write down one activity for everyday after work and do it. I recommend some sort of exercise, it will improve your mood dramatically. Fill your spare time. Write it down so you can't forget.
Look for the positives in everything. Negative feeds the darkness. Don't feed it!

Hi Jacky,
You said you'd just love to talk to someone and I feel the same way. It's really hard to feel alone when suffering from depression... I hope you have or can find a great person at work to be friends with, that can really turn around the way you feel at work. Apprentices have it so hard. I worked in front of house for a few years and it's quite shocking to see how differently the chef world works. Just remember that every single person you meet in your life can teach you something. Every person knows something you dont, guaranteed. Even if you don't like working with them, that's something you can keep in your memory bank which will make you an even better chef/ head chef! (I hope i got the apprentice thing right by assuming your an apprentice chef) haha. My thoughts are with you. **if you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours** I guarantee it will brighten your day a little 🙂

Hey Jacky,
My names Jack! So i guess that feeling you have is not the only thing you and i have in common.
Let me start off by welcoming you to the forums, personally for me it was tough reaching out but let me tell you it is a huge step in the right direction. When I was going through a rough patch like that something that really worked for me was breaking the routine. I hated just waking up going to school to stare at a screen and do work all day then come home do the same for a bit then sleep. So i took up a new hobby i was interested in and joined my local surf life saving club. The great thing about this was that not only was i doing something i was interested/passionate in but i was meeting other people who were similar so i made some new friends.
What do you currently do as an apprentice because if it isnt something you enjoy and you dont like it CHANGE IT! I can't stress that enough, even though it can be scary and difficult sometimes to drastically change career course it is worth it. It is so much easier to succeed in a field that you love with a passion.
If you do love what you're doing or if you can't change and it is just the people in the work force you can change that! What is it that they are doing? there are laws to protect workers and do you have a good relationship with your boss?
I really hope you are okay. I know its tough now but trust me it gets better! Make sure if you don't feel any support at home or with friends you at least come here because we will always be here for support! I recommend seeing someone like your GP.
Tell me how you are getting on.
Hang in there <3,
Smith98
