Hi Cotton Candy,
Welcome to the forum!
If you don't mind me asking, are you happy with your life in Australia? Are your adoptive parents kind and loving? Even if your life with your adoptive parents is great, wanting to know more about your birth parents is natural. If I was in your situation, I imagine I would want to know more as well.
Your adoptive parents may avoid talking about your birth parents because they feel uneasy that you want to know more. Perhaps they are worried that you aren't completely happy with your life as it is. Your parents may be trying to 'protect' you - it's possible that your birth parents put you up for adoption because they had issues of their own that prevented them from raising a child.
Hopefully someone else with more knowledge (and even personal experience) with this situation will also reply 🙂
Best wishes,
Zeal

Dear Cotton Candy24
You've come here about your situation and to hopefully find people who understand and can sympathize and maybe even give advice
While just about everyone here would like to help, and I'm sure many have already walked down a similar path to yours it would be helpful if you were able to say a little more abut your life
For example how old are you, how long you have been with your adoptive parents, how, by and large, you get on with them, do you have any brothers and sisters, and so on. Also if there is anything at present in the way of a major family upheaval or something big worrying you.
I'm sure you can see that in order to give you anything that makes sense it has to be based upon facts.
Please let us know, there is always a warm welcome waiting when you post
My best wishes
