Uneventful and Unfulfilling Life - am I wasting my life away?

Hey guys! This is my first post.
So basically, over the last half of the year my life has gotten progressively uneventful. I've been spending my weekdays basically just doing homework. And then my weekend consists of either lying in bed on my laptop or doing homework. And this just feels so unfulfilling.
I feel like I'm wasting my life away and I also feel more and more lonely because I just spend my time alone. And whenever I ask if any of my friends want to do something they're busy.
And so I guess what I want advice on is how can I make myself do more things? I mean I read articles and all they say is to walk, or bake or do other hobbies but this still doesn't work.
How can I start going out more with other people? Like how can I ask them to do more things with me? Or what things can I do to make my life more interesting? Because at the moment the only really significant thing in my life is school which just leaves me feeling so sad.
The thing is I have friends, but no best friends if that makes sense. Is there a way I can reach out to more people? If I'm honest, my ideal goal would just to have a best friend who I can see all the time and randomly text and go out with. I feel like that's a bit much to ask for but thats just to put it all into context I guess.
Since the summer holidays are coming up, this is a chance to do more things so can you please give me suggestions? Because if I don't do things, I think I might spend the summer feeling lonely and sad at home. Also, if any of you have gone through this how did you change things? Thanks for reading it means a lot

Hi, welcome
The first thing you have done here is acknowledge your problem and then ask for help remeding it- so good for you.
I have several suggestions and you can take or leave them depending on your nature and interests.
Firstly is that I joined the Defence forces at 17yo. I gained a profession, adventure, friends, worthy cause serving my country and good pay, low meals and accommodation costs. It launched me into my future. Something to consider if helathy.
Next is that you dont mention your age. That is crucial to advice. I'll assume yo are around 17-18yo. Once you have income and savings then a few things become possibles. Firstly I would conside a van, like a delivery van so you can up and leave your abode and go to the beaches, mountains anywhere you want to camp overnight or much longer. This will open up meeting many other people. There is a app called WIKICAMPS AUSTRALIA that I use to show you where facilities are at any camp like water, showers/toilets, near a freeway, has shade, muddy entry etc etc. So you can plan your trip in advance. Depending on your accomodation at home you could buy a pup, People gravitate towards small dogs, we have a mini foxy and we meet people all the time that stop and talk.
Expand your friends base, like a production line you have to turn over your friends meeting new people all the time and the more you meet the more likely you will find a close friend that feels like you. Also while single and not in a relationship, it can be lonely.
The final suggestion is clubs, golf, bowls, model airplanes, racing cars, or similar. Consider your past interests and go from there.
Good luck TonyWK

Thanks that seems pretty helpful thanks for taking the time to write all that.
I am 17 by the way. To be honest, I don't see myself joining the defence forces and sadly I can't drive yet. But I should probably consider joining a sports group. And I'll look into some more hobbies to do.
Your response was really helpful and I just want to thank you for that!

random man,
Welcome to the forum. Tony has given you some helpful suggestions.
One thing that you may consider is some work as a volunteer in an area that suits you. It may be with animals, sport, helping people whatever suits you . You can learn skills and meet people and it may only be for a couple of hrs a week, There a websites that can help you choose.
well done for starting your thread and being honest .
