I've been getting professional counselling. None of it is helping. I wish I could just move to some quite place in South New Zealand and spend my days alone in some quite peak or small town where I wouldn't have to worry about all this luggage that comes with life. My friends have changed since going to University and have started acting very stuck up. I've deferred from University myself because I have absolutely no ambitions. My first Girlfriend left me right after new years this year, which in itself was a blessing in disguise because I now know what my value is as a person, which is small to none.
So. Why exactly am I continuing each day suffering, dragging this ball and chain around my ankle. I have no one to wake up to in the morning to make a cup of tea and breakfast for. No one to share my interests with. I'm just sitting here without any friends and no reason to do anything. As Audrey Hepburn said “When you have nobody you can make a cup of tea for, when nobody needs you, that's when I think life is over.” This is indeed how I feel right now. And you can tell me making friends is easy just be more outgoing, the thing is I have no interest in 'clubbing' or 'parties' or any such social events. I prefer to spend my time quietly at the beach reading a book or at a park enjoying the serenity. And even when I do see someone at the park or beach by themselves I'm often too scared to approach them. I wouldn't even know what to say. What if they thought I was some creep? I'm just stuck in this endless cycle of loneliness. I accept that I'm lonely, and I don't want a circle of friends, I just want one friend I can talk to and hang out with. Otherwise I'm really questioning myself as to why I'm wasting time and resources existing.

Hi guys. It's been quite awhile since I have posted here. Honestly I don't know what to do. Sometimes my mood picks up and in a matter of hours it's back to square one. I don't like my environment; the people, the scenery.. just everything. It all attributes to my constant pain. I just want to be somewhere else.. alone. Somewhere I can start anew. I cannot for the life of me explain why I feel this; but I just don't like it here. And I can't even do anything about it. I have no job and hardly any work experience. And the time it's going to take to save up enough money to leave this place I'm not even sure I can bare.
None of my family knows the extent of the thoughts I'm having. My mum knows I am receiving counselling for depression but I don't have the courage to tell her the extent of what goes on in my mind. I deactivated my facebook 7 weeks ago and haven't seen any of my friends since then. I tried hanging out with a friend last week but I left after a couple of hours, it was just too much for me to stand. Even my current psychiatrist always seems to be trying to push me onto anti depressants. Which I'm still thinking about; my mum really doesn't want me taking them but I am 19 and it is my decision but I do not like having things pushed on me. And I'm going to see about changing psychiatrists this week.
But in terms of coping I really, really, really do not know what to do. This environment is sucking the life out of me and I want to leave it before it leads me to drastic measures. A 'holiday' is not enough. I need to be living somewhere far away from here. My eyes have been set on New Zealand but residing there just seems so far away .. like I'll always be stuck right here.. in Sydney Australia. Counting away at the moments of desperation and pain happening on a constant basis.
It's really getting close to boiling point for me; I just want my mum to understand how bad this is. But I've never been close to my mum, I hardly even talk to my mum apart from saying hello when she comes home or just small talk. I'm always locked away in my room. And the first time I told her I was depressed I was really locked up for words.. I could barely form a sentence in my head and speak the words from my mouth. My psychiatrist just typed up a little note to hand to my mum saying "_______ has depression and I have recommended him to defer this semester." So yes my mum knows I'm depressed but I just don't know how to tell her how bad it is.. and that I want to get away from here.
I really need advice on how to cope with this.. and what steps I should take. Because I can't keep this facade up for much longer.
