Hi jessiealex.
Maybe you can tell us what you've tried so far that hasn't worked for you? That way everyone can offer different suggestions.
I tend to use deep breathing exercises when I'm under stress and it's beginning to overwhelm me.

Hey jessiealex, thanks for posting and welcome to the forums!
I find deep breathing exercises most effective too, like Az7319. When I start to feel the anxiety building up, I breath in for 10 seconds, and breath out for 10, and repeat that at least 5 times.
I also find music a very helpful coping mechanism, and I try to keep my iPod and earphones with me. Also art therapy is helpful too, if you're a creative type; writing in a diary or poetry, colouring books, drawing and painting, and even sewing are all things that I find really helpful in distracting me and getting my head in a calmer mindset.
