I'm not sure not everyone thinks that sort of money is well spent as they walk out the door, I guess a lot depends on the relationship. Around $100 gap fee per session is middle of the range, with some going much higher and it is a sad fact for many it is simply too expensive to even consider
My only other suggestion is the free therapy available at the Mindspot service where one can be diagnosed and choose from a range of on-line therapies, from depression to PTSD. Supervision is by clinicians, who you can contact during a course, and liaison between Mindspot and your GP is standard.
This can be a help and is free. A face to face or teleheath with a psychologist who clicks will of course be more personal and effective, however this is far better than nothing with some people reporting great satisfaction.
