Hi MMX
Welcome and good on you for being a part of the forum family too 🙂
You have posted under 'young people' which is great. I just thought I would bump up your thread to give your thread the attention it deserves.
You are amazing for having the courage to post on the forums. I may be wrong but the group of girls that 'run' your year level wouldnt have the intellect or strength to post here if they had an issue
Can I ask if you have a a couple (or even one) of friends that you can talk to during the day? Having some support is always a bonus mmx. If you dont we have young people on the forums that can be here for you...no problem!
I am happy you are here as there are many young people that choose to only read the forums for support which is fine. You have summoned the strength to post on Beyond Blue 🙂 That makes you an amazing person
The forums are a safe and non judgemental place for you to post whatever is on your mind
I hope you can post back when convenient. Without new posters there would be no forums mmx
Excellent post and thankyou for being a part of the forum family 🙂

Thank you so much for replying Paul! I’m happy you took the time to write something here for me 🙂
I do have quite a few friends at school who I can rely on, but I wouldn’t be comfortable telling them how I’m feeling. They are the sort of girls who would interrupt me as soon as they had something in common with what I am saying and tell me how they’re going. I wouldn’t feel comfortable telling anyone at all really about how I feel, my mum actually suffers from quite a severe depression and I feel like if I talked to her she might feel like I’m just going through a phase. I wouldn’t feel comfortable with the school councillors either because then my teachers and parents would be involved... that’s why I prefer a keyboard to just type everything down and rant on like this, and hopefully help others who are scrolling through the forums and have a similar problem to me.
Thank you again for replying,
mmx

Even though you have a few friends which are good, but you're not sure if they would go and tell these girls who 'run your year level' and then break your trust.
I hope that you can talk with us so we can help you and then hopefully other people who have had the same situation may reply back to you. Geoff.

Thanks for replying Geoff! 🙂
Yes, that is true, I don’t think I have one friend who hasn’t broken my trust already. They seem to go off and tell everyone else everything before I have a chance to stop them.
It would be so helpful to continue to talk with you and others on this forum, I hope anything anyone replies will help others like me.

Hi MMX, thanks for getting back to us and the trouble with these 'friends'spreading what you have told them is that it escalates, for example, a splinter in your finger could finally end up with the finger being removed after it has been passed around a dozen people.
It would be great to talk with you again. Geoff.

Hey Chloe,
I’m so glad you came here, it’s good knowing I have someone I can relate to.
It would be great if we both stayed on this forum together and helped each other out.

Hey mmx,
It is a good feeling knowing there is more than one person out there feeling like you! It would be great if we continued helping each other out. I too have no help from my parents. They just don't know me.
I have something that I find helps me with dealing with anxiety and intrusive thoughts. Its supposed to be in table form but I think you can understand it like this.
Draw a table/make a list. In the first column, write the heading Situation. In the next, write Emotions. In the third, Thoughts, and in the fourth, Alternative Thoughts. Under Situation, write the situation or thing that is making you anxious. In Emotions, write down how this situation makes you feel and how your body reacts to that physically (e.g sweating, shaking, hyperventilating, crying etc). Under Thoughts, write down the intrusive/anxious thoughts. Finally, under Alternative Thoughts, write down any thoughts that don't make you anxious that you could think instead.
This may not work for you, but its worth giving it a try!
