Keeping strong

I have had a hard couple of weeks where I have felt like giving up because everything seems so hard  again. Everything feels out of reach and I am just tired of trying so hard to get better and getting nowhere. I saw my psychiatrist yesterday who kept telling me that I have to stay strong especially until we find the right combination of medication to help me. I have been on what feels like a lot of different medications, dosages and combinations and I still haven't been able to feel different.

My psychiatrist is also going overseas for July and August so I feel pressured to feel better before the support leaves. I'm not sure I can keep strong much longer. I just want a break from it all and to feel better 😞 I just want to feel better..

Hi Kelly

Wowee, that is absolutely awesome.   The stuff that you’re doing with the old folk – that is simply brilliant.   I’m taking it that this is your ‘other job’ that you have?

I find old people to be wonderful folk – I don’t know what it is, but it could well be that, they are near the end of their tether and so why try and be a crankpot – let’s just go about our things and just cruise along – least ways, these are the ones I’ve encountered along my journey.   The other side of this is that some of them have amazing stories to tell from days gone by.

Whereas with other people, well you sometimes, never know what you might get.

Don’t know if you’re a Seinfeld fan, but I’m a massive fan – and on the Clip Shows, where they show highlights, sometimes they’ll start with a little theme and show clips of that kind of theme.   It’s one that revolved and round People, and Jerry said in the first clip;  “People are the worst”.    And I use that particular line so much, because there are a lot of people out there (unfortunately) who aren’t very good OR they somehow do annoying things.

And that’s not silly at all, that you enjoy their company – from what I’m gathering, you are a person with a warm and true heart and a lovely caring nature – hence the this job that you have and also for what you’re studying to become.  Wonderful stuff.

Kelly, I LOVE it – you used the term ‘bush walking’.

Last year I went to Canada and Alaska for a holiday with the fam, and the amount of times we heard that people weren’t going for a walk, they were going for a “hike”.  I don’t know why, but it irked me and I just put it down to Americanism-Canada-ism and one of their ‘special’ words.   A bit like how we use the term, “How ya’ goin’?”   American’s/Canadian’s, simply don’t get that – if they’re asked that, they’ll say “Well, I usually go by car, or sometimes bus, but right now, I’m not going anywhere”.

Sorry, slight divergence again.

Cheers, and great to hear from you again.

Neil
