Hi yunasdream, welcome to beyond blue forum
Many of us here have done life tough, hard as. I wont bore you too much. I'm 58yo and I look back at the 80 hours work a week I did with shift work to feed my family and pay my child support. All that while physically building my own home because it was the only way I could afford a home, a kit home.
Many other do it hard also. But you know what? it isnt the end of the journey you look at, its all about the journey on the way, how you overcome the hurdles, the pain both physically and mentally, how you defied the rythym of your family's habits, ho you became a winner in life. Once you become that winner by overcoming all the obstacles, then you can hand down your pride and secrets to the younger generation...as I'm doing right now.
So, the best thing I can do for you now is ask you to use the search function above and read the following threads. It could just change your life.
DEPRESSION - is there any positive?
Being positive - what's the secret?
Boredom the closed door to fun
Depression and toxic people
Getting depression into perspective - please read this, it might help YOU
Feeding your brain
Good luck Tony WK

Hi Yunasdream,
Thank you for your post and for opening up with your stuff. So you know who you are talking to, I am a fifty year old guy with five kids and have no idea what it is like to be a young person today. I suffer depression and PTSD but have made a choice to not be shackled by them. Honestly, every day is a fight but every day I fight. I'm not saying I always win, I just have the fight. 🙂
What I do have is the life experience to tell me that you can overcome a lot of the hurdles you face because you can strongly influence your own destiny by the choices you make.
I would like to learn more about you and myself and my colleagues on this site will do everything we can to support and help you if you'd like that and if you will trust us a little. It is an anonymous site so you are safe here.
Please tell me a little of yourself, I know you are a girl! How old are you, what interests do you have? Do you have dreams for you future? Do you have any short term goals? Like all young people, you are important. You are the future of our society.
I hope you can post again. If you need to vent, we all know it is necessary and helpful to share such burdens when there are people available to help.
Other here know that I am fond of quotes, corny though they may be, and my quote for you is, "Destiny is not a matter of chance; but a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, It is a thing to be achieved." William Jennings Bryan
Kind regards, John.
P.S. You really are important.
