I'm starting to believe in a God because there's no way I can be this unlucky without someone planning it.
Its not big things like relatives dying or cancer or anything like that. It's just the small things. And there are so many of them. It feels like some God is constantly playing a practical joke on me. Nothing I do ever works. Nothing ever goes my way. And when it starts to go my way it does a 180 turn and just doesn't.
Everything is always a disappointment. Anytime I make plans with my friends it always falls through. I feel like I have a lot of friends but only one of them actually asks me to hang out with him. I just hate the situation I'm in so much.
The result of this unluckiness is just severe loneliness. I feel so lonely. I have friends, I have people that love me, I know i do, but it doesn't stop the feeling of just being completely alone.
I spend so much time alone in my room and I don't want to but there's no where else for me to go.
Anyway I'm posing this because lately the feeling of loneliness has gotten to a point where I'm seriously considering if I have depression or not. I'm always tired but I can never get to sleep. I feel like shit all the time. I'm always stressing about weather my friends actually like me or not. Recently I've been falling into crying fits.
I just want to know your opinion. Should I go see a doctor? I don't feel comfortable talking about it with any of my family or most of my friends.
Thanks for your time.

Dear Ronny~
The short answer is yes you should. The way you describe it you life is pretty horrible. Feeling things always fail, that you have to be in your room, that you are always down, insomnia, crying and stressing over your relationships. It can be an awful lot better.
Actually I think you will do very well, you have a sense of humor, and when faced with the problem of not finding a suitable person in your life to get advice from thought to come here. You are also able to identify one of the problems.
May I suggest you prepare for a visit to the doctor, and book a long consultation. Then have a list, mental or written, of the things that you are feeling and as far as you can tell what is affecting you.
If you are diagnosed with an illness such as anxiety or depression it makes things easier. You have a path to getting better, and at the same time your current problems are explained. I made the mistake of not getting help until far too late, and was that much harder to treat as a result.
Do you think that if you had been to the doctor it might be easier to talk to someone in your family or a friend? I found that personal support from someone who cared made a very big difference, I was not struggling on alone.
Please feel free to talk as much as you like here, I'd like to know how you get on

Hey Ronny,
I too am going through a very similar thing. I reached out here for help and I got it.
Your note alone my friend.
I can't give very helpful advice but what worked for me is seeing my GP, wish I had done it sooner.
Talk to your GP, I was a nervous wreck when I done so, but we'll worth it.

Hello Ronny, thanks for posting your comment.
I agree with Croix, the answer 'yes' and fortunately, I think you have mentioned all the reasons in your second last paragraph.
There are other reasons why all of this can happen, because if you do have any type of depression then this can make you feel as though you're locked in a room all by yourself.
Before you see your doctor can I suggest you write down how you have been feeling, photocopy it, so you have a record yourself and do the K-10 test, it measures your depression if you have it, try and do it several times, not straight after the other but at different times, and then pass these over to your doctor.
I mention to photocopy it because if they suggest you see a psychologist then you can also hand a copy over to them.
Please let us know how you get on.
Best wishes.
Geoff.
