Hi Erin1010101
My apologies for the delay in you getting a response. We are usually pretty quick..
Welcome and good on you for having the courage to post too!
You are in a very difficult year with so much expected of you.
You are a strong person to have posted here. I really hope you can see the wellbeing counselor at school and have a chat. Your privacy is assured and I know you will feel better.
You have so much to gain and nothing to lose by having a chat.
If I may ask you, is there anything happening in your life at the moment that is making you feel depressed?
you are not alone here. There are many young people on the forums that also feel similar to yourself during year 12
I hope you can post back Erin
You are amazing to have posted 🙂
be kind to yourself
Paul

Hi Erin1010101,
Welcome to the forums! I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling and have failed subjects. Can I ask what's happened already; have you spoken to your teachers, parents or school counsellor about it? It would be interesting to know what they've said so we can try and get a better understanding of how to help.
Resisting exams isn't very easy; which is why it helps if everyone can understand how you're feeling and why you can't do them. Some of the options you could explore are; doing it at a different time, repeating your grade, or doing the exam anyway.
I'm not sure what you want to do after year 12, but exams aren't the be all and end all. There are many options after year 12 if you want to keep studying; so if you are looking for that all important TER - there are other ways; which means that if you do get a low score on your exam, it doesn't mean you can't do whatever you want in the future.

Hi there Erin!!
Im in year 12 this year also, and I've been struggling with anxiety and minor depression. I don't have much advice but just hear to let you know that you're not in this alone.
Just try to remind yourself that VCE and the ATAR isn't everything. There are so many career pathways and different types of journeys that will get you to your dream career
The way I cope when I'm having a bad day is to say "Keep doing my best and just relax". You can only do your best!
