Can’t keep a job

Hi everyone

i can’t find a long lasting job!

everyjob I’ve done has either been seasonal or casual with varying hours.

i quit my last job because I was being picked on by someone. I now have shoulder injuries and need them to get better before working again.

im finding it overwhelming just being on centrelink and trying to pay bills and have food in the house! I’ve looked at what bills I can reduce or fully get rid of but most need large amount of money to disappear.

i can’t ask family for money because that makes me feel like a disappointment.

i don’t know what to do! Everyday tasks are difficult with my shoulders but I also get really down if I can’t pay my bills

teach,

Welcome to the forum. this is a friendly ,caring and supportive place.

I u derstand you are trying hard to get work and fell overwhelmed by your bills. It must be difficult with your shoulder injuries and coping with the pain.

i can understand why you don’t want to ask your family for help but families often want to help you.

There is an organisation called National Debt Helpline that is free and a nonprofit organisation that gives financial advice. you can phone 1800 007 007 Monday to Friday 9.30 to 4.30pm. you can look up their website.

You could also Phone Beyond Blue Support line support line 1300 22 4636.

Thanks for writing your first post.

Hey Teash,

Sorry to hear you're struggling with injuries and bills at the moment, as if one wasn't bad enough, you've got both lumped together.

I know the pain of always working casual jobs, it can be very tiresome not having reliable money coming in. I know you said you have always worked seasonal jobs, and I know this isn't a long term solution, but perhaps as you wait for your shoulder injury to repair you could look into a Christmas casual job in retail or hospitality that isn't physically strenuous (selling small items, or in a food court in a major shopping centre)? Maybe just as a short term solution to the money issues while you can't do the physical stuff. I know most of those positions are advertised around September time. Maybe that's something you could try?
