Anxiety about going to war?

Hey all,

I'm glad to see that there are fellow members who are also majorly anxious and scared about possibly wars/big scale disaster events etc.

With North Korea claiming to have this massive bomb now, and the possibility of WW3 happening, it's got me thinking...

Has conscription/being drafted stopped in Australia? Will it be picked up again?

I'm quite dumb about these things and quite honestly, the thought of me having to go to war makes me so anxious I can't think of anything else. I also read that if you have anxiety or depression, it means you can't go to war, though.

Forgive me if this post seems a bit all over the place. This kind of stuff just majorly freaks me out.

Cheers.

Hi cs, welcome

Im concerned as well over all the worlds flashpoints at the moment and I follow it a lot.

Im 61yo. Joined the RAAF at 17 and had a long security career.

Drafting is highly unlikely as modern warfare has changed. Trench or jungle arm to arm combat is very unlikely.

Remember Iraq with the "weapons of mass destruction"? There wetent any. I believe the USA has a mammoth amount of intelligence on North Korea, spies, satellites, defence missiles and so on. At this stage Im certain USA has the defences in place in Guam and Hawaii etc so they wont be bombed. If not Trump would be at war by now. He is also playing a waiting game that jung un will do such reckless things the world will support the USA going to war.

Yes I'm convinced war will happen but we are in one of the safest places apart from south America.

So no you wont be drafted. The NK problem will come to an end without us being bombed. Study senarios on the www to learn more about NK's capabilities. Yes they hsve a huge army for example

.. 6 million soldiers...but they have to move them, feed them, arm them...its no walk in the park. If and when war comes within a few weeks it will largely be over.

relax.
