Hi 93,
I responded to your post of last week regarding your problems with shortness of breath etc. I wonder if you have any results back of the tests you had done?
If you need to see your GP for follow up appointment, I would definitely mention the constant anxious feelings. If you don't have a follow up appointment scheduled then I would make one. The feelings you describe are some of the same symptoms I experienced from the age of five until I sought treatment at 35 and was diagnosed with both major depressive and anxiety disorder.
If the results of your physical tests came back negative, then I would speak to your doctor about the possibility of an anxiety disorder. If he thinks this may be the issue, then I would ask to be referred to a psychiatrist or psychologist for proper assessment and treatment.
There are quite a few treatment options for anxiety. Thanks to medication, I can now live a relatively "normal" life with very little anxiety. There are still the ocassional blips when the anxiety escalates, however, it usually abates when my psychiatrist adjusts my meds.
Please speak to your doctor about your anxiety issues; there is no need for you to feel "blah" every day, when anxiety can be treated quite successfully.
Best wishes
lh

Hi '93
Last week if my memory is working I responded to your post...and what you have been going through....Have you had any feedback from your GP?
I have had identical symptoms since I was 23....and they are awful but can be managed with regular visits to even your GP or psychologist is you prefer...You shouldnt have to feel this way....
Please let us know (if you can) how you are going
Kind Thoughts
Paul

Oh Skinny,
you are having a rough time.
I second the others about going back to your GP, you shouldn't have to suffer like this!
Big hugs,
skye

Dear Skinny93
I realise you've written to Paul, but until he responds, I think it would be a good idea if you went back to your GP, irrespective of the results of your physical investigations, tell him/her what you've written here and ask him/her if he/she feels you may need to see a mental health professional for an assessment.
The symptoms you describe may be a sign of a disorder and it is also concerning that you are only 40kgs. Your symptoms are obviously quite distressing for you, so I would be inclined to try to speed up the process.
There may very well be a physical cause for your problems, but it would be a positive step if you could find out if there is a psychological component to your issues.
Please take action as soon as you can; it will put your mind at ease. Also, we would be interested to know how things go for you.
Take care.
