To much time to think in lockdown

Hey guys,

Not really sure what to write, i havnt been on here for three years apparently! Time flys.

I suffer from bipolar , as well as bpd so things can get a little chaotic at times. Things have been especially tough currently with lockdown, home schooling my nine year old, n living with three other people in a small house 🤦

I suffered from a pretty bad breakdown last night, and so decided to reconnect, as I got alot out of being a member of BB in the past.

How is everyone else coping with social distancing and lockdown? Personally I'm on a rollercoaster; one minute loving that I don't have to face the world, next minute in the fetal position crying 🙄

Wishing love and happiness to anyone reading this, you are not alone

MM ♥️

Hey MM,

Welcome back! So glad that you decided to come back and share with us when the going got too tough. I think lots of people are similarly feeling like they are getting a very bad case of cabin fever, even without the added difficulties of child-rearing, teaching, and managing mental illness!

I think rollercoaster is exactly the right word– good days and bad, up and down. Have you been able to get out for a walk or some other little bit of exercise, maybe in the evenings? I know exactly what you mean about having too much time to think; I've tried to throw myself into some new hobbies as well as many books and movies. What do you like to do?

Looking forward to talking more!

Hey Gems!

Thankyou so much for your msg 🙃

Yeah I've actually got my best mate living with me for Iso which has been sick, been walking together most days and eating REALLY healthy which I'm sure would be having a positive impact on my mental health. Been drinking way to much tho which is the only downfall having her here 🙄

I've also been reading a heap as I love to read anyway to escape, and been getting in to some new tunes, new net flix series (tiger king) 🤭.
Cooking alot as well to fill the time.. these are only every second or third day tho , otherwise it's sleep or mania 😓 very tiring.

I hope that your day has been a positive one? I really appreciate your msg. MM x

I've had to virtually cut out the news which has helped and have started listening to more music lately, which helps.

Hey David35,

Thankyou for your msg, I have also cut out the news for like the last month, makes me depressed AF, feel like I'm in a horror movie or something 😔

What sort of music are you into? I hope you have had an okay day ☺️
MM 🤟

Hi miss Manson I’ve been on antidepressants since the week before covid 19 was first mentioned although I’ve not been diagnosed with anything yet but my gp strongly believes I have depression. I’ve also done a phycologist quiz which I’ve scored high in the high section or whatever they call it.

Hi Miss Manson,

Nice to meet you, and nice to have you back on the forums!

Yep, I think we can all relate right now. May I gently ask, for the times that you do feel overwhelmed by lockdown, do you have some things that help lift you back up? Jumping on here and cooking and making virtual connections is a great idea, do you have other things you like doing or that help?

Sending kindness,

Tay100

Hey mocha delight :)

Thankyou so much for your msg!
Wow what a hard time you must be going through with everything going on 🙄 are you finding that the meds are working? Or is it hard to differentiate between "normal" worries due to covid, and, unhealthy/ unhelpful thoughts?

Look forward to chatting more.

MM x

Hey Tay100 :)

Thankyou so much for your kind msg!

Yes I have quite a good support network that I am ever so grateful for, I get phone calls every week from my disability workers to check up on me (can also call whenever I need them) plus my psychiatrist, psychologist, and fam are only a call away. I am very lucky in that regard.

I have just started my son's online learning with him too which is keeping me busy! I also have a couple of dogs to walk , but has been raining the past couple of days so that's out of the question ATM.

Could I ask you what you do if you are needing a distraction?

I look forward to speaking with you again.

MM x

Thanks for your reply mm I actually think I’ve had depression since I was 16 (31 now) so no it’s not from covid although that does not help so yes I can differentiate and yes I think the meds are helping
