Hi Cat,

I hope you don’t mind if I greet you with a caring welcome. I’m glad you posted 🙂

Sorry, I must admit that I don’t know too much about Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). I did once undergo TMS; it was a one-off and I definitely don’t consider myself hugely knowledgeable about it. Also, I’m not a doctor by any means...

My personal experience was mild scalp discomfort and scalp itchiness. But I know everyone is different and would understandably respond differently to TMS.

Your response and symptoms do sound worrying and I’m glad you’re trying to figure out what is going on. I think it would be a good idea to see your GP for an assessment as well as raising this with the clinician who is administering your TMS treatment.

Also, when I typed “TMS” in the BeyondBlue search engine just out of curiosity, a thread came up called “Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and MAOIS.” You should be able to find it if you type that in the BeyondBlue search engine. I didn’t read the whole thread but the original poster did receive quite a number of replies.

Having said that though, I still think it would best to check your symptoms with your GP. I hope you don’t mind me saying that...just sharing my thoughts.

You’re very welcome to use this space to continue talking and sharing (if you like). It would be great to hear from you again.

kind thoughts,

Pepper

Hi Cat55, welcome to the forums.

As Peppermintbach has pointed out, we have quite a long-running thread on this.  It includes comments from members who have undergone this treatment, as well as input from our regular GP and counsellor Dr Kim.

We've linked to the thread below and will close this one off to avoid duplication:
