I went to work on friday, feeling like i really didn't want to be there.Thats not unusual but when you are not well its worse.I called my wife at smoko and told her how i felt, she was great.I didn't want to go home because i think once i start it's too easy to just go home when things are getting to me.Anyway i got through the day and probably was happier i stayed.Felt like i had a win.The boys had beers after work but i usually don't because drinking alcohol is something that im avoiding for all sorts of reasons.Maybe the day will come when i have to knock off work early or have the odd day off but at this stage i'm ok.

Hi MrMagoo,

I related to your post immediately. As a self employed person, it's a situation that gets highlighted almost daily for me. And I think I can summarise my thoughts by saying it takes less energy to just hang in there and persist than it does to come back from a break. If I sit down and relax at 3pm, I'm done.. Everything starts to ache and my resolve crumbles. But if I don't sit down, I'll put in several more productive hours and feel none the worse for it either.

The lure of the early knock off is strong. But it's just a mirage. It's just a few fleeting hours and then they're gone and you have to remotivate again.

Anyway, good on ya mate. Cheers,

Bill.

Hi Mr Magoo, thanks for posting your comment.

It's not easy to remotivate yourself especially when you aren't well or stimulated and the thought of going home is always on our mind, but if you would like to come back and talk about your alcohol, I'd certainly like to hear back from you.

It's always a topic that is talked about as it can be a problem for many people.

Best wishes.

Geoff.

Thanks Bill
