Greetings everyone
i have recently been diagnosed with major depression late in my life. It seems this happened to me after a traumatic event in my life. After much trial and error I am now on what appears to be the best medication for me. I see a great Phycologist regularly. I have my days when I can’t get out of bed. It’s hard work trying to put in place all the strategies that I get from my Phycologist! I hope I am able to contribute successfully to these forums 😀

Hi Howlite
Welcome to beyondblue!
I know it takes courage to post for the first time and I thank you for sharing your story.
I am sorry to learn of your illness, but so pleased to learn of how you are handling things. Reaching out for help and engaging in treatment is so important, and I commend your courage. Even better that you are spreading the word!
You hang in there. Many people with depression recover with treatment, so never lose hope.
Kind thoughts to you

Hi Howlite,
welcome to the forums. I found that writing here was therapeutic also - a place to put ideas out of your head. Like you I have depression (and anxiety). I look forward to seeing you around the forums. And when you want something lighter to look at, head into the social section of the forums.
