Hi, Ive come back to BB as feeling so low. Struggling with daily tasks. There have been a lot of major difficulties in my family, which although ok atm are ongoing. Its hard to get up in the morning. Ive tried counselling and medications. Now trying remedial massage, accupuncture and self help, including exercise. Tough year 2020 and Im reaching out to hopefully get some ideas and motivation.
New year tomorow it mustbe better...

Hey there,
You raise some very interesting points. Im always helping others but who helps me when I need support. When I look around there are a few who will always make me feel things are ok and positive. Others, expect me to support them. Some will do whats asked but just that.

It is exactly like bamm I have hit the wall just so worn out exhausted, and now I just need to take time for myself. I just got asked to meet the midnight train for a lift, in pouring rain and while Im quite unwell. I told them to get a taxi home! I did agree to come out to pay the fare .
The people who raise me are so few, perhaps I need a new tribe. Or to learn how to be cared for rather than care for others.

Hi Guest_630

It's, in some cases, definitely true that your tribe determines your vibe. Sometimes my vibe will give me some insight into how my tribe is actually behaving, as a whole. Such behaviour can definitely be questionable at times. With the question 'Why's my tribe draining me?' or should that be 'Why am I letting my tribe drain me?', sometimes the insight comes back to being more about us than them. 'How have I conditioned them to be draining of my energy? Am I an enabler in some way? Have I been conditioned, myself, to be a people pleaser? Should I recondition myself to be a people challenger to a greater degree?'

I discovered that if I want to branch out and start connecting with a new tribe, it pays to know who I naturally am first, otherwise I may start searching for the wrong people. I'm a mind/body/spirit gal, so I tend to gravitate toward those who bring out the best in me in this way. Through such people, I discover more of who I naturally am. This becomes exciting. If someone loves the idea of acting, they may gravitate more toward local theater and take great joy in finding the thespian in themself. A friend of my daughter is feeling so deeply challenged now that they have begun the long and challenging journey of transitioning from female to male. For her friend, the transgender community/tribe may be able to help manage the early stages of such a reformation. Such a tribe would fill her friend with a sense of self love and self acceptance as they act as knowledgeable guides and supporters.

While part of our role in life involves service to others (quiet happily at times), we have many other aspects to our self beside servant. Discovering who we are naturally, can lead us to develop those roles in the most fulfilling ways. I'm a bit of a slow learner 🙂 It's taken me about 50 years to realise this. Better late than never, feeling fulfilled.

Being Mum, Daughter, Wife, Sister etc, something else I've discovered throughout my journey is many are capable of managing without us part of the time. The question 'How would you manage to get from the station to home, without me driving you?' is a question that's triggered my daughter to greater independence. In the past, she's always expected a lift, not because she's arrogant but just because I'd led her to rely on me always doing this. It can definitely be hard, holding back from wanting to make things easy for others at times. Making things easier for others can prove draining.

🙂

Hi therising,
You have given me some things to think about, thank you. Recently while I have been unwell its given me a chance to step back and see how those around me can take more of the load. I am an even slower learner 😆but now its my time for my self and I plan to expand this part of my life more.
Those who do raise me to enjoy more time with them, even while we all battle with covid restrictions. The things which I enjoy to fill more of my life.
Very true that making things easy for others is draining as is watching a family member really struggle with their life, but it is their life, their choices and we all follow our own path, however sad.
