Thanks Dools good information, willing to try anything, so everyone’s suggestions are beneficial, and I try them all.
It is difficult coming from the bottom up, just to make oneself do one little thing is a huge step. Just coming on here is a massive step, and a positive one. Thanks to everyone.

Hi FFL
Just one step at a time, every little victory is a celebration. Don’t rush yourself to be anything...sometimes I just have to focus on the moment, this second, this minute. I used to think I should be able to solve things quicker, now I stop & remind myself to take one step at a time, & just be in the moment.
Take care

Well the psychologist has not made contact. My GP said they would contact me, & they haven’t. What happens now? Back to the GP & find yet another, in the meantime the suffering continues. Why is it such a battle to get to see someone? Is there a shortage? Don’t I count? Just not important enough!

Hi Rainforest,
I'd like to suggest that you telephone the psychologist. If he or she has a receptionist, ask them how long you may be waiting for an appointment. Ask if there is someone else in their practice perhaps who you can see earlier.
Also ask if you can have your name placed on the cancellation list, let them know you are needing to see someone as soon as possible.
In the mean time, would you feel comfortable talking to someone on Lifeline or here on the BeyondBlue support line on 1300 22 4636.
It is certainly not that anyone feels you not important! It may be because the psychologist is fully booked and has little time to make phone calls. It may be because the psychologist may not be able to fit you in for some time.
You are important. Your needs are real. You are worthy of receiving help and assistance. Unfortunately sometimes it takes a while to get an appointment.
Yes, go back and talk to your GP. Let them know how much you are struggling. They may have other people they can suggest.
Is it possible for you to find a counsellor to talk to until you can get into the psychologist? Some work through Church groups and don't charge very much.
It can be tough to put one foot in front of the other and find the will power to keep going. Hopefully you can feel a sense of hope and find ways to get through each day.
Cheers to you from Dools
