Living nightmare

Hello

my first post and it’s making me even more anxious doing this. I am suffering severe anxiety every day upon  waking. Can’t remember the last time I felt any happiness. Have tried many different antidepressants, but am intolerant. Have spoken to psychologist, but no help either. I feel like I am no longer me, I’m gone somewhere, and can’t find my way back.

Dear Kazzim

Welcome to the Beyond Blue forums, we are so glad that you have made you way here and had the bravery to post and will be reaching out to you privately to offer you some additional support this afternoon.

It sounds like you have been sitting with this for a long time now and it can feel relentless when you try things new but they don’t seem to have any effect; it’s important to keep reaching out Kazzim, whether that be your GP, family or friends, you don’t have to go through this alone.

In the meantime Kazzim, we would love for you to give one of our fully trained counsellors a call for some counselling support, we are here 24/7 on 1300 22 4636 or via our WebChat.  There is also Lifeline (13 11 14) and the Suicide Call Back Service (1300 659 467) who are always there for you whenever things are feeling like too much to cope with.

Thank you again for reaching out, we will leave you in the hands of our lovely community members who will be here on your thread soon. They’re a really amazing community, and will have understanding, advice and kind words for you.  Thanks again for sharing. It’s a powerful and brave first step towards feeling better.

Regards

Hi Kazzim, welcome to the forum🙂

I'm sorry that you have been suffering from anxiety and depression, and haven't made much progress in working with your psychologist...It must be hard for you to go through these on daily basis.

I can resonate with you a bit as I have been experiencing symptoms before sleeping and waking up, and I have also switched antidepressants... and I'm also in doubt that whether I could get back to the original me or not. I sorta accepted the current situation of myself (it is hard), and instead of focusing on the problems, I'm trying to look at what I have and try to improve what I could improve.

Was there any time when the problem wasn’t that dominating, that you felt a bit better and had feelings of hope that things would get better?  I did sometimes and I wish they last longer and I could work something out from them.

It's nice to see that you made your first post on here as the first step is always daunting, I feel you. My first post here was in the BB social zone, I check out others' threads and started with light-hearted content, it actually made me feel less stressed, and feel like I am one part of the community in this forum.

We are here to listen, please feel free to reach out to us and share more.  Plus, you may wanna have a chat with professional counsellors here via Webchat or ring 1300224636.

Warm regards
