Hi Jackik
We are sorry to hear of your distress about your situation and your son's situation. What you feel is valid, and posting here is a great way to acknowledge your feelings. This is a place to seek general support and find connections in a non-judgemental community. We can direct you to parts of the forum that may provide you with insight and information from those with similar experiences. You can also use this thread to tell us more (whatever you feel like sharing) and we can provide a listening ear. For example, what are some small things that have helped you and your husband cope emotionally during this hard time? Any small act of self-compassion is a great place to start.
Let us know how you are travelling, if you like.

Hello Jackik,
I was very saddened when I read your story and what’s happening in you and your sons lives...
I could never imagine the devastation you are feel and the anguish of not knowing where he has been sent to...I think that is very unfair for you and your husband...He is your son that you love and care for and you have that right to know where he is and if he is safe..
I wish I knew a way that you could find out...Keep asking the lawyers and other official that attended the courts...I hope so much that they will let you know soon...at least that he is safe and well....
Jackit..Please if you need help or someone to talk to ..can you please give the Beyond Blue 24/7 phone number a ring and speak to the trained councillors 1300224636..They are very understanding and you can talk things through with them...
Sitting with you dear Jackik, if you need to talk, I will try my best to support you the best I can..
My care and kindest thoughts
Grandy...

Hi Jackik,
Thanks for your response- we appreciate you opening up to us further and sharing those details. We know it can be hard to think about them sometimes. You two and your son are going through a rough time, there is no denying. Hopefully, the dialogue here has provided you with some solidarity. From what you have said, it sounds like you want clarity and assurance more than anything, especially in relation to your son's wellbeing. Is there any advocacy service or a hotline you can call? Can a case manager put you in touch with someone? Perhaps they can give you the detailed answers you seek.
In the meantime, know that we feel for you. You say you can't get on with daily life, that's very understandable. Please try and self-care as much as you can. That can include things like eating well, communicating with your husband and chatting here amongst people who won't judge you and seek to understand and support.
Keep us updated if you like,
Tay100

Hi tay100
I am not sure if you still check this thread. I am trying to find support too. I have felt the same . My son started remand the same time your son was sentenced and have struggled to get information at times too especially at the beginning when we had no experience with this at all. you never stop worrying!! Another thread I found was also abandoned a year ago and I would like to find one that is current with parents with young adults in prison, to receive and give support
thanks
Nameless1,
