Hi,
Sorry, you must get posts like this all the time, but I am a little bewildered. I have PMDD, so I searched it among the forums. A list drops down - I don't know if it is a lot of different threads or posts from one/a few threads. I don't know how to jump on these forums and I don't know what to say, if it is an old conversation. I also don't want to clutter things up by starting a brand new thread on the topic. What should I do? And will any of this really help anyway?

Hey Tacita,
Welcome to the forum!
There's no need to apologise - it's good that you've started a new thread, as this is your first time on the forum.
The list that appears when you type in the search bar does look quite overwhelming. The panel on the left-hand side (Refine results) allows you to sort the search results that appear. The sub-section called Content type allows you to tick what you want to see as results. You can click on (tick) more than one box. If you would like to read posts about others' experiences with PMDD, tick the Forums option. If you want general info, tick the Web pages box.
If you don't mind me asking, how long have you had symptoms of PMDD for? Do you currently see a professional about it?
This is the main forum thread on PMDD I found:

If a conversation is old, you can still post in that thread. However, there may be less replies because the conversation isn't new.
Connecting with others here on the forum can be a real comfort to people, and a way of not feeling as alone. This is a friendly online community, and you are very welcome here.
It would be great to hear back from you!
Best wishes,
Zeal

Hi Tacita,
Welcome to the forums!
Thank you for deciding to join us. The forums can be a little confusing so it's good that you made a post.
To answer your questions -
- If you post on an old thread it will 'bump' it so that other users can see it. This happens a lot.
- If you start a new thread that's completely fine too. People do this all the time and there's no problem. Sometimes people who have been here for years still post new threads on different things they want to talk about or even just thoughts they have.
- As for whether it would be helpful - well, we hope so! There's no way to know for sure but a lot of people have found it helpful to know that they aren't alone here. Plus there's lots of different people on the forums so if one thing doesn't help you maybe something else will. If it's not helpful, that's okay too - just let us know and we can try and help in other ways.
I personally think it might be a good idea to start a new thread.
Oh, and just a reminder - your post would never be 'clutter'. This is what the forums are for. What you have to say is important and we want to hear you.
