Thank you for allowing me to join this fantastic organization and who is doing wonderful things (such as the online forums and chat) for the public. I have a wealth of lifetime experience which has being good and not so good. What I have learnt is having someone to chat to is key. Whether it is Beyond Blue, a close friend or even an animal (to me this is key) for keeping a positive outlook on life and hopes.

hi Tommys and welcome to this space. It sounds like you have come to terms with whatever you have had to deal with and you are right that having someone to talk to is very helpful. If i speak to my cat he just gives me a odd look and goes back to sleep. Will see you around the forums.

Hello Tommys,

Welcome to the forums..

I live alone with 2 dogs and from today a little bird that I adopted...

I talk to my dogs all the time and even ask them questions when I’m not sure on something....No unfortunately they don’t answer me, but for some reason it helps me in some way to help me answer myself...

They are all I have and don’t talk to people much at all..sometimes weeks on end....talking to my furs at least keeps my voice from getting cobwebs in it..

Now I have a little bird I’ll chat to and I hope that I can teach her to talk....

It warmed my heart to know that someone else talks to their beautiful pets...

Care and hugs..dear Tommys...🦋🤗.

Grandy..

Hello, hope your new little bird friend is doing well, animals are just wonderful at helping us. I too like you dont speak to anyone for weeks . I have a little elderly dog who is always by my side keeps me busy taking care of her. Sometimes if I didn't have her I think I would just spend the day in bed and hide from the world. Although I do have lots of projects to do I like making things knitting crocheting do so for charities, helping someone else makes me feel useful and in a way needed. Thank you for your post it made me feel like I am not alone there are more of us out here going through the same.
