How do I know if I'm lazy or it's something more

Hi guys,
I'm not sure if this is even the right place for me to come to but I just need to talk.
Lately I've had a complete lack of motivation - I have things I want to do around the house but I cant even seem to bring myself to do much basic cleaning let alone more than that.
I saw a nutritionist cos i wanted to lose some weight but only did what she said on and off for a week or two then basically gave up and eat so bad now. I used to go to the gym a decent amount and have no motivation to go now. I pretty much just sit on the lounge and watch TV in my free time.
I am studying and staying pretty on top of that and work 1 day a week. But anything beyond that - I just really struggle with.
Am I just in a slump? Or is it more than that. I don't know what to do and if I'm just being lazy. Any advice appreciated. Thank you

Hey ArtieBee
You have posted in a place thats just fine and Welcome 🙂
Im sorry that you are in this slump of a place Artie....Its never a good place to be in...I get it as I have been there many times too
You have a good attitude for relaxing on the couch and chilling.....especially after studying as much as you do!
It can be very hard to get motivated after days and many hours of studying....Good on you too for working as hard as you are
I used to have a job with a company vehicle (sitting a lot during the day) and I was over 100 kilos until I started doing dog rescue and was walking them every day.....then I dropped down to 84 kilos. It was really hard as I love my occasional pizza and had to change to fish and salad.....yes it was boring...but it worked
I dont think anyone as focused as you is lazy at all. Its only my humble opinion that you have so much happening that you are 'spent' when you get home which is more than understandable Artie
I havent been to a gym for decades....I just try to fit in 30 minutes a day of walking or whatever to keep my body moving. It can be a pain when we are really tired though
Im sorry that I havent been able to be of any more help Artie. I do hope that you can post back whenever its convenient for you 🙂 The forums are a safe and judgement free place for you
My kind thoughts
Paul

As Paul said it's the right place to post a comment so that's brave of you.
What I think would be good is to google the 'K-10 test' it will give you a score out of 10 indicating whether or not you are depressed and to what degree.
Do it a few times but not straight after each other, at different times of the day, when you feel better, middle range and when not so good.
Write down the scores and take them with you when you have booked an appointment with your doctor.
It's also important to discuss how you have been feeling. Geoff.

Hello
i am replying as I can relate to your post a lot. I too am studying and working just a little and I too have a lack of energy and motivation as well as problems with eating.... although I have seen improvement in my energy since getting an iron infusion.
So In addition to seeing your doctor about how you are feeling may I suggest you get a blood test as an iron deficiency can cause some of the symptoms you describe. I am obviously not a medical professional just sharing my experience in hope that it may perhaps help.
my warmest regards, I hope you may pick up your spirits
