Hi, I'm new here

I hope I'm doing this right, just saying hello.

I've never participated in a depression forum before.

I hold down a full-time job and my employer is aware I've been struggling with depression. They're very understanding. Most of my problems revolve around loneliness.

Anyway, hi 🙂

Hi there, I'm new too and you're doing great. I just posted my first not long ago. I'm sure it becomes easier. Wanting to welcome you and tell you that we are listening. Hope all goes well for you. Talk soon

I feel this is much harder than it should be. I've created an account and have logged in.

Anyway, I don't want to bother anybody, I'll move on to other forums.

Dear Guest_2568~

Welcome to the Forum, you have logged in properly and have made your first post:)

Having depression is a horrible way to be, something that can at times rules one's life. To hold down a full time job at the same time is no small thing. Having a boss who understands and can even try to help is absolute gold. for one thing it gets rid of the worry of disclose and makes one feel more secure.

Do you mind if I ask if you are under treatment?

Being lonely is something a fair number of people here have to deal with. Fortunately it is not always a permanent state. When my first wife died I was very lonely indeed, but as time went on I found another and we have been together for many years.

I guess I'm making an assumption here, you wish to have a partner. If I'm wrong and you simply want other people around my apologies.

Do you think you might like to say a little more about yourself and your life? It's a bit hard to know what to say without some idea of the particular problems you face.

If you would like a simple relaxed chat with others here you can go to the Cafe, a thread you find here:

Forums / BB Social Zone / The BB cafe

You just talk, no heavy stuff which you discuss here, and others will greet you , a friendly lot.

Anyway I do hope you come back and say more

Thank you Lizzy 🙂

I just don't understand why I'm appearing as Guest_2568, and I'm finding that upsetting and distressing. It's probably just me being depressed (which is why I'm here of course) but it seems weird

Thank you Croix.

Just for the purpose of constructive feedback, outside of yours and Lizzie's responses, this Welcome and Orientation experience leaves me feeling disoriented and confused.

I don't know why my post appears like I'm a guest account and I have no idea if I'll be able to find it later.

For someone in a bad place it's just confusing, surely it's not supposed to be like this?

Anyway I'm not generally a pain in the ass and I appreciate the service. I'll move on but I hope somebody reads this.

Pollice Verso and Lizzy1,

welcome to the beyond blue forums! Glad you reached out to us for support, we are here to help!! 🤗

PV hey, you are not coming up as a guest on my iPad, you are under the username Pollice Verso (is this what it's supposed to be?)

A bit about me- Im in high school, have depression and anxiety but both undiagnosed, all this is very recent for me. I joined beyond blue just under 2 months ago. I didn't realise I'd stick around to help others but here I am. I am seeing a psychologist very soon, at my headspace centre.

i hope you read this- your account seems to be working fine. Maybe the name was being checked by the moderators and so you appeared as a guest for the tim being.

Take care, will keep an eye on this thread in case you reply

Dear Pollice Verso/ Guest_2568~

I'm sorry for the confusion. In order to find your place in future you can look at the MY THREADS tab or even simpler bookmark the page in your browser before you leave. There is no need to move on just at the moment though in time you might like to make a thread of your own in the section of you choice - perhaps the Depression one.

The red FORUM FAQ button at the top of this and every other thread tells you how to do that. Sing out here if stuck - OK?

Having your own thread in a particular section gives you the best chance of being contacted by others with similar problems, though there is of course nothing to stop you from browsing around too.

With the Guest_2568 name, if people do not choose their own name that sort of one is provided automatically, however I'm not sure why your proper name was not in place - it's too good a one to waste:)

The only other thing to remember is that replies can take a while. Things do get easier
