Hi Donnabalnor
Wow! Your goals sound great. Everybody has to start somewhere and you should be proud for selecting your starting points. I also get help in with the heavy work in the house and garden--anything to save time!
I hope you enjoyed Christmas shopping with your daughter. I like to shop with my daughter, we usually do lunch and have more than a few laughs along the way. Although this time of year it can be stressful with all the crowds, so we try to go early in the morning and get out before it gets crazy.
Kind thoughts to you

HI summer rose you are the only one to chat to me Friday was not good was looking forward to a meeting with my nurse but it was cancelled and felt very low and needed some one to chat to so bought a bottle of wine, now awake at 3.30am did the washing up and the garden and now going through the paper work I have missed in the last few months. treated myself to a bulldog bad boys calendar. I am chatting to you but do not hear any thing about your life you do not have to say any thing I understand as I am a very private person life has taught me never say any thing you would want in print or on the net. well I am going to bed now and read a book till I fall asleep I hope. thanks for chatting. Donnabalnor,
hi. I have just seen your posts. I am glad you can write here and express yourself.
Your roses sound amazing so I am glad they give you pleasure.
Are you often awake at 3.30am.?
Do have you find it hard to follow your goals.
Many more people read posts than answer them.

Hi Donnabalnor
Sorry it's taken so long to reply, my life has been a bit frantic lately. Work, house, kids and now Christmas.
Spent yesterday decorating our house and tree. One of my favourite days every year-- first time I play the Christmas carols makes my heart sing.
Just a bit about me ... I'm in my 50s, married 30 years to a wonderful man, with two adult children and a dog I adore. My daughter has a mental health condition called OCD, which lead me to this site.
Sorry to hear you were up in the middle of the night. I hate that. Nothing to do and desperate to get back to sleep. Nothing worse than waking up tired.
Sounds like you are doing your best not to drink and I'm proud of you. I know it's tough and old habits are hard to break but just keep at it.
Have you been to group? How did it go?
Kind thoughts to you

Hi Donnabalnor
Sounds like today was a good day. Great idea to call the help line if you want a drink. Anything to delay until the urge passes. That's what I used to do when I was quitting smoking. I also started giving myself rewards, as I figured I was saving money not buying the cigarettes so I could treat myself. Small treats daily (eg out for coffee) if I got through the day and then a weekly treat (eg would get my nails done) if I made it. The treats just gave me something to look forward to. And eventually it got easier and I didn't need the treats.
My son's birthday is this week and my husband's next week. I should probably wait with the decorations but can't help myself.
Sorry to hear about your relationship with your daughter in London. Was it always like that? Or do you think her mental illness has contributed to the break down?
