Hi everyone, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself, I’m a 26 year old female. This is new to me, i struggle with anxiety myself. I’ve got a best friend who suffers with depression and anxiety quite badly and I’m always trying to offer him support and words of encouragement so just thought I’d hop on here and see what everyone else has to say.

I’m sorry that you struggle with anxiety and your friend also with anxiety and depression..
It’s hard to write out and post our very first post, well done Suzie..

Welcome to the bb forums! And congratulations on making your first post.
I care for a loved one with anxiety and OCD, so I can certainly understand and empathise with what you’re experiencing. It’s tough, I know.
The good news is that with the right treatment there is always hope for better days ahead. As you participate more I’m sure you’ll gain benefit from sharing your story and reading the stories of others.

Hello Suzie_Q, it's great that you are offering your friend support with his anxiety and depression, but in doing so, you are neglecting yourself, because these type of illnesses may seem to be similar but in fact, they are developed by your own circumstances which may be completely different, even though it appears they are just alike.
Support is wonderful, but please remember to try and get your own counselling so that you develop your own strength, which will then help the both of you.
