Dear Scorpio6~

Welcome here, I'm very sorry it is in such circumstances. There are a great many families of people that have been incarcerated and in some ways the sentence falls on them too.

I've no way of knowing your circumstances, or even how you feel about your daughter and whatever has happened. I do know most parents are concerned for the welfare of their child and will do what they can.

There is a national listing of prisoners' welfare organizations here:

I'd imaging getting in touch with one or more in your state or territory might be a good first step. Many offer support and advice to the family as well.

There are of course other matters, such as how to stay in touch, if that is what you both want, and what happens when she is released.

If you would like to talk more you would be very welcome

Dear Scorpio

Welcome to the forum.

I cannot even pretend to know what you are going through. Your post made me think how I would feel if one of my children went to prison. Not nice.

Croix has given you some support suggestions which would be good for you to follow up. Do you live far from the prison and can you visit your daughter fairly easily? Sorry for the list of questions. Knowin g a little more about you can help us talk to you.

Can you write in again and tell us what is happening in your life?

Mary
