First of all, hello. Second of all, I am going to skip the pleasantries and dive straight into the thick of it.
I am 24, lost and feel as if I am Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. Wake up, feed the cat, put my make-up on, wear the suit, work, eat, go home, clean, cook, clean again, sleep and repeat.
I don't want to go into it too much, but I have quite a few 'demons' that I battle on a day to day basis, and recently, I am too tired to even fight anymore.
Is this really all I am meant to do for the rest of my life? Is this the life everyone keeps saying is great and worthwhile? Because I can't help but wonder that I am not cut out for it anymore. I don't feel joy, I work 6 days a week and am terrified of this being it. Is this it? How can I smile again? Appreciate any and all tips, tricks or even just someone who gets it.

Nooooo, so much life yet , it could be the total opposite in a few yrs time . And seems you used an American movie let me use one of their songs -
"24 and so much more" think it was neil young, but it's true whoever it was.
Mine couldn't be more different to when l was 24, so much has happened and that l've done.
Whatever you doing now isn't it it's just the footing to the rest and don't worry footing is good, like a houses foundation. Your doing this right now , trying it out but if you don't like it the worlds your oyster. You can change it all especially if you don't have kids or marriage as yet. Go be a hippy for a few yrs, or start a little business, or move to a new city or state or town, or travel, just the very tip of the iceberg .
ls there something else you've always dreamed of doing , or going to , or some lifestyle , hobby , or have wanted to try.
Hang in there , or not , this isn't it, but that's all up to you your the boss.
Good luck.

Thank you R. I needed that perspective. I don't know about you, but it can be so easy to get entangled in your own version that you forget to look another way at things. Rather than looking at all of this time as a burden, I should really try and look at it as an opportunity.
I appreciate your words, kindness and wisdom more than you know.
I wish you all the best in everything you do.

Hello lost_at_24,
Welcome to the forums. I can understand how working 6 days a week must make your life feel repetitive and exhausting. When it comes to these demons you're battling, is there anyone to support you? Have you thought about speaking with your GP or a psychologist?
Also, is there any way you can squeeze in some time for yourself each day? Any small form of self care like a walk in the afternoon, a cup of tea in the morning or a phone call with a friend. Having something even something really small to look forward to each day really helps improve my mood. Or are there bigger things you can do, like take 1 week holiday from work? Or change something in your habits like signing up for a class, trying out new hobbies, exploring a part of the city each week?
I've also at certain points in my life wondered, "is this it?" and realised that the only way things will change is if I change them myself. From your post, it seems like you are looking for change and I hope you are able to achieve it.
Best wishes,
Beeee

Hi lost_at_24,
Welcome to the forum and thank you sharing your story.
Same to your name, it's so easy to get lost at your age, it's absolutely normal, it doesn't mean that you're a loser at all.
You're still very young, there's plenty of time to dream and realise it. Try to answer the following questions:
- what kind of life do you want to live,
- what is your dream job,
- what is your greatest hobby.
And if you want, tell us the main challenges to achieve the above goals, and we'll see if there's anything we can advice.
